Animal Research Assistant Oncology

Greenfield, Indiana

Animal Research Assistant with oncology experience to support in‑life operations for preclinical oncology studies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with Animals in research environment for pre clinical oncology studies

  • May perform husbandry and animal handling work

  • Performs dosing and bleed techniques

  • Measures tumor size, animal weights and measures

  • May perform medical imaging

  • Follows study protocols

  • Cell inoculation

  • Reports findings, maintains information in LIMS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in veterinary technology or related program OR Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Biology, Wildlife Studies, or related life science field OR 2+ years of college in related Sciences field AND 1-2 years of hands on large or small animal care in laboratory/research or farming operation.

  • 1+ years of experince working in CRO performing animal research oncology studiesrequired (In Vivo Oncology study experience)

  • 1 + years of experience in animal tumor measurement and cell inoculation

  • 1+ year of small animal handling experince required

  • 1+ years of animal dosing experince required

  • Mammalian cell culture experince preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AALAS Certification preferred but not required

  • Strong GLP knowledge

Additional Job Standards:

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

  • Once fully trained position requires working every 3rd weekend, both Saturday and Sunday

​This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on tumor-bearing model experience, strong technical proficiency, and an interest in contributing to regulated (GLP and non-GLP) studies within a fast-paced CRO environment.
