About the Role

As the Corporate Affairs and Engagement Director, you’ll report directly to the Country Leader and lead a dynamic team of 3 specialists. You will be responsible for developing and executing a 360° corporate communication strategy that strengthens L’Oréal’s reputation, drives innovation, and ensures alignment with the Group’s Communication and business goals.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include:

Strategic Corporate Communication Leadership:

  • Define & Drive Corporate Communication Strategy: Architect and lead the development of a comprehensive corporate communication strategy that articulates our company's vision, values, and strategic priorities. Ensure this strategy seamlessly integrates internal and external narratives, aligning with our business goals and the L'Oréal Group's global communication directives.
  • Develop & Execute 360° External Communication Strategy: Architect and implement a comprehensive, integrated external communication strategy aligned with business goals and L'Oréal Group directives. Identify key messages, target audiences, and effective channels to enhance brand visibility and influence.
  • Drive Public Affairs & Advocacy: Lead proactive Public Affairs strategies, including driving and communicating our commitment to purpose-driven initiatives and pioneering beauty-tech innovations. Position L'Oréal as a thought leader and responsible corporate citizen.
  • Orchestrate Integrated Communication Campaigns: Design, lead, and execute sophisticated campaigns across digital, social, and traditional media to enhance corporate visibility, cultivate advocacy, and deepen stakeholder engagement. Ensure consistent messaging.

Reputation & Crisis Management:

  • Proactive Crisis Preparedness & Management: Anticipate risks, develop robust communication strategies and protocols for critical situations. Lead response plans, monitor risks, and coordinate with the Corporate Issue Management Team to mitigate crises and safeguard reputation.
  • Develop Prevention & Mitigation Strategies: Implement proactive measures and communication frameworks to prevent reputational threats and minimize their impact.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with local, regional, and global teams for maximum visibility, consistency, and impact across all communication channels.
  • Strategic PR & Influencer Relations: Spearhead impactful Public Relations (PR) and ePR strategies. Cultivate strong relationships with media and influencers. Ensure effective collaborations with agencies to maximize reach.
  • Key Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and nurture enduring, trust-based relationships with critical internal and external stakeholders through joint initiatives and shared goals.

Talent & Culture Amplification:

  • Employer Branding Excellence: In close collaboration with HR, co-design and implement initiatives to strengthen L’Oréal’s positioning as a dynamic employer of choice, attracting top talent.
  • Empowering Internal Engagement: Supervise and evolve internal communication strategies to reinforce employee engagement, foster a cohesive corporate culture, and ensure alignment on company vision and strategic priorities. This includes media-training executives and providing counsel for speeches.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Strategic Thinker with the ability to align communication with business priorities.
  • PR Expertise: Strong background in corporate communication, and public relations.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading team and delivering impactful projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Crisis Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive situations with clarity, speed, and resilience.
  • Employer Branding Know-How: Experience in co-driving EB strategies with HR is a strong advantage.
  • Market Understanding: Deep knowledge of the Ukrainian market and cultural context.
  • Digital Communication: Proficiency in managing digital ecosystems and social media strategies.
  • Languages: Fluency in Ukrainian and English is essential.
