Business Development Manager, Skinceuticals

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a position focused on Flagship and Buying Group initiatives for the brand. This role reports to the National Business Development Director and would work cross functionally with marketing, education, sales, PR, digital and medical affairs.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial

  • Achieve/exceed 100% to sales goals: L4L, FYE monthly, quarterly, and YTD for ACS/Flagship + Groups.

  • Meet/exceed new account targets for both number of openings and financial targets

  • Forecasting & Call of Number: Weekly or as requested with Business Analyst for forecast accuracy (calling up when there is opportunity and adequate information when at a deficit)

  • Budget: adhere to policies for PPP, CAPEX, carstock, toolbox travel and stay to budget for self and team.

Advanced Clinical Spas/Flagships/Branded Retail

  • Working with Sales (Commercial Director, National Business Development Director, Business Development Team, Regional Managers and Account Executives) to determine potential partners for our Flagship program.

  • Presenting opportunity to selected physicians and gaining contracts.

  • In collaboration with marketing + commercial team creating a unique business plan and sales goals for flagship partners.

  • Working with Skin Ceuticals team (marketing, PR, digital) to arrange all aspects of the buildout and subsequent launch.

  • Create and optimize workflow between business development managers, regional managers, and local account executive to develop and implement a financial and promotional strategy for assigned customers.

  • Act as Business Partner and Expert

  • Building strong influential partnerships with physicians and key decision makers to maximize the partnership through PR and medical affairs. Develop and implement solutions that meet our partners business needs using his/her deep understanding of retailer-centric best practice, client business issues, business processes, roles and responsibilities.

  • Business meetings with Advanced Clinical Spa key personnel a minimum of 4x per year (Newer clinics, less than 2 years, 6 times a year)

Buying Groups

  • Presenting opportunity to selected Groups and negotiate contracts.

  • Developing and executing joint business plans including sales goals for Buying Group Partners and ensuring cross collaboration with sales team.

  • Identify key national account leads and works with team to contract, develop, and execute a mutually beneficial partnership with each new partner

  • Building strong influential partnerships with CEOs, CFOs, Physicians and key decision makers to maximize the partnership through business development and medical affairs

Business Development and National Retail Merchandising:

  • Responsible for evaluating and approving new clinic prospects submitted by the sales force

  • Lead the deployment of the Gold Standard Training across the region

  • Execute the Skin Ceuticals brand image across Canadian flagships + group accounts.

  • Create and deliver business reviews/presentations to internal reps and external customers as required.

Territory Management:

Field Rides

  • Quarterly field rides with Account Executives or Regional Sales Manager minimum 1x per month for commercial development and building key relationships with Key Decision Makers in clinic.

Travel Requirement

  • Valid driver’s license and availability to drive for short and medium distances

  • Travel quarterly to visit various accounts spanning across different provinces.

Communication:

  • Hold minimum bi-monthly set conference calls with Account Executives. Ongoing performance discussions with Account Executives.

Education & Training:

  • Education & Training: accountable for attendance and a mark of 80% on all tests. Self requirements: Complete brand mandatory education training requirements and complete modules/assignments from the Education Leader. New team members must attend 4 virtual/in-person product trainings hosted by the field team (RSM/BDTCs)

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • At least 3 years of experience selling in cosmetic dermatology or plastic surgery practices

  • Understand marketing strategies and programs. Marketing experience a plus.

  • Understanding of retail design, retail programs and strategies. Retail or franchise experience a plus.

  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and organizational skills.

  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication in English.

  • New thinking approach to identifying opportunities.

  • Must effectively monitor, analyze, interpret and communicate business information.

  • Strong understanding of the aesthetic marketplace, including device and competitive brands

  • Ability to establish strong professional relationships with physicians and practice staff.

  • Proficient computer skills necessary, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
