How you create impact

You are responsible for leading the warehouse team by directing a diverse inhouse + subcontracted workforce to manage the throughput of customer products, creating a safe working environment + complying with all necessary government/country requirements. 

  • To oversee the selection, professional development + motivation of all warehouse employees with equitable work distribution 
  • To closely monitor the performance of any sub-contractors associated with the warehousing function 
  • To plan, direct + implement warehouse operations, administrative + customer service support to meet productivity + service goals 
  • To ensure storage capacity utilisation within warehouses is correctly managed. During peak season, throughput + inventory management + back-up procedures should be available to cater to the business surge 
  • To communicate + coordinate internal/external activities to ensure service performance + quality of work 
  • To collaborate with Quality, Safety, Health + Environment (QSHE) to manage + maintain the safety + protection of property + people 
  • To manage continuous improvement projects for the site • To undertake any other tasks required by managemen 

What we would like you to bring

  • 3–5 years’ experience in air freight warehouse operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role
  • Prior exposure to international freight forwarding and air cargo handling
  • Strong understanding of air freight processes (import/export, ULD build‑up, cargo acceptance, dangerous goods handling)
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and cargo tracking tools
  • Ability to manage warehouse layout, inventory control, and cargo flow efficiently
  • Ensure adherence to aviation security standards and Kuehne+Nagel’s global compliance policies
  • Knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations in Australia
  • Experience in handling dangerous goods and perishable cargo
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Supervise daily warehouse operations, including staff scheduling and task allocation
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff to achieve performance targets
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with airlines, customs, and internal teams
  • Ability to resolve operational issues quickly and effectively
  • Track KPIs such as cargo throughput, turnaround times, and accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse processes
  • Ensure service levels meet customer and airline expectations
  • Support cost control and productivity improvement measurest
