As a Database Automation Engineer (m/f/d), you will automate processes and tasks that improve our internal Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. Your work will help make our database services more efficient, reliable, and scalable. You do not need deep database expertise, but you should have a solid basic understanding of relational databases. If you enjoy automation and are motivated to learn, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies in an international environment.
How you create impact
- Design, build, and maintain automation scripts and workflows for database provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
- Work closely with database administrators and infrastructure teams to improve and optimize automation workflows.
- Troubleshoot and fix issues related to automated processes.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements and best practices for database automation.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for automation solutions and self-service processes.
What we would like you to bring
- Experience with JavaScript and/or PowerShell, and a willingness to learn new scripting languages.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible or AWX.
- Additional experience with Terraform, VMware Orchestrator, Perl, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
- Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills and fluent spoken and written English.
- Independent, goal-oriented work style and willingness to travel to Hamburg 1 - 2 times per year.
