As a Contract Logistics Operations Manager at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. How you create impact

The Operations Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse and production logistics functions, ensuring efficient labor scheduling, effective supervision, and optimal utilization of space, equipment, and manpower. Key responsibilities include staffing, oversight of warehouse operations, facility and equipment maintenance, and execution of safety, security, housekeeping, and sanitation programs. This role is accountable for delivering strong customer service, nurturing customer relationships, and fostering a high‑quality Kuehne+Nagel employee experience.
 
  • Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility and equipment.

  • Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storing, sequencing, delivery to the production area, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.

  • Plan long range labor needs based on production forecasts and input from management.

  • Make recommendations to General Manager (GM) on programs to improve operations.

  • Attend forecast and productions meetings with customers.

  • Interact with GM and Operations Supervisors/Shift Leaders to establish goals.

  • Develop a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and services standards.

  • Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.

  • Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary.

What we would like you to bring

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have 2+ years of management experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center operation
  • Must have 2+ years of experience working in a customer facing role?
  • Must have preven proficiency working in an automated warehouse environment
  • Must have working knowledge of WMS technologies
