As a Senior National Controller in the fast-paced third‑party logistics (3PL) sector.

In an industry defined by tight margins and constant cost pressure, this role goes far beyond traditional financial oversight. The Senior National Controller will dig deep to discover the true drivers behind cost issues, analyze data to uncover root causes, and build actionable solutions that strengthen cost controls, improve profitability, and enhance financial decision-making nationwide. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace.

How you create impact

  • Lead the end to end planning (quarterly forecasting and annual target setting) and reporting processes for the vertical area within the business unit, in close collaboration with the business unit managers
  • Work closely with the vertical area Contract Logistics manager to provide financial expertise, and support the strategic decision-making process through robust analysis and challenge
  • Proactively monitor business performance, initiate business reviews and follow ups and monitoring of corrective actions
  • Leverage analytical skills to identify risk and opportunities and develop actions plans aligned with stakeholders
  • Drive sustainable, profitable growth through insightful analysis and challenge, whilst ensuring financial and KPI health
  • Take the lead with branches to ensure month end closing with accurate revenue, gross profit and cost recognition
  • Partner with the vertical design and launch teams to ensure financial rigor and challenge throughout the new business processes, including driving the business investment application process (BIA)
  • Analyze and assess customer and site profitability against business cases and targets, identifying appropriate benchmarks, and monitor underperforming operations and initiatives to improve
  • Ensure financial transactional accuracy, adherence to Internal Control System compliance and KN policies and guidelines
  • Ensure corporate MCoA and business unit structures are in place and up to date including maintaining all relevant keys and methodologies aligned to corporate performance reporting requirements
  • Work as part of the wider Business Unit controlling teams, ensuring functional activities are completed as required
  • Drive and share best practices across locations within the vertical and work in collaboration with the other vertical controllers to ensure consistent processes and knowledge transfer

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • CPA preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in controller roles, preferably with an (Financial Planning and Analysis) FP&A background

  • Experience working within multinational organizations, with the ability to collaborate across multi‑site business environments

  • Logistics operations experience within a multi‑year contract business preferred

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable

  • Strong change‑management capability

  • Clear and effective communication skills across all organizational levels, with the ability to influence and drive impact

  • Analytical mindset with strong commercial acumen

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Structured, strategic thinker able to translate complex analysis into actionable insights

  • Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
