As a Director of Finance Control, you will serve as a trusted business partner to senior Line Management, driving financial excellence and shaping the growth trajectory of our U.S. Contract Logistics operations. *This position is open for Visa sponsorship for a qualified internal candidate.

The role acts as a proactive advisor to management, contributing financial insights and strategic recommendations that support profitable growth, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.Partner cross‑functionally with business and functional units to support productivity improvements, process optimization, and strategic initiatives. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace. 

How you create impact

The right candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to leadership, driving profitability, growth, productivity, and process improvements.

·  Lead the US Controlling team and maintain strong alignment with Corporate Controlling.

·  Oversee timely and accurate month-end close, annual target-setting, and quarterly forecasting processes.

·  Manage investment reviews, business case development, cost‑saving initiatives, and new business evaluations.

·  Represent Finance in pricing and RFP processes, ensuring accurate costing, sound assumptions, and compliance with accounting standards.

·  Identify and mitigate financial risks through contract reviews, pricing oversight, and senior‑level discussions.

·  Monitor business performance, analyze P&Ls, perform gap analyses, and drive cost control and procurement support.

·  Champion standardization, continuous improvement, tool development, and employee development within Contract Logistics Controlling.

·  Ensure governance and full compliance with financial controlling policies through direct oversight of local analysts and support staff.

 

What we would like you to bring

·  Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent; Master’s preferred

·  7–10 years of experience, including 5+ in Finance/Controlling (FP&A preferred)

·  5+ years leading and managing teams

·  Experience presenting to senior leadership at national and corporate levels

·  Strong Contract Logistics operational and business knowledge

·  Proven leadership with strong personal drive and innovative thinking

·  Solid Controlling and Finance background

·  Organized, detail‑focused, hands‑on, and collaborative

·  Strategic thinker who turns complex analysis into clear insights

·  Skilled at detailed work and concise executive‑level summaries

·  Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables)

·  Strong analytical mindset and commercial acumen

·  Self‑starter with initiative and consistent follow‑through

·  Track record of leading, coaching, and developing teams

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data. #LI-Hybrid
