Material Handlers – Spares Shipping 

Reports to: Supervisor - Freight Operations Management

Job description

Support spares shipping for shipments to GSS (Global Spares Support), Return to Vendor (RTV), and Miscellaneous (MSR). The Material Handler receives parts from the warehouse, MRB, and production; manages materials to stocking areas; packs and labels shipments pending shipment bookings and releases to forwarders and GSS-SDC.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording the location of inventory, and reporting shortages
• Manage inventory storage and moving goods to their necessary location and make sure the proper materials are being shipped, scanned, and accounted for
• Verify and perform “Hand-Shake” on received parts via RF scanning.
• Prepare e-Quality and other packaging labels, physically involved in packing outgoing shipments in forms of cartons, pallets, or crates
• Ensure accuracy of items packed against the Pick List and Bill of Materials structure
• Expedite and ensure urgent requests are fulfilled within the stipulated lead time
• Support internal and other relevant departments (e.g., Planners and Buyers) to ensure all orders are fulfilled on time.
• Proper housekeeping and workplace safety.
• Identifying and locating the right products during the shipping process
• Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance
• Locates and packs materials for shipping
• Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products
• Fulfill orders by packaging necessary materials and preparing them for shipment
• Operate machinery such as forklifts
• loading and unloading different transport items, recording inventory status, and making sure deliveries properly match work orders.
• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties assigned by superior.
• Require to support P1/P2 operations during week-ends and public holidays

Skills/Qualifications

• GCE “O” Level or “N” Level or its equivalent
• PC literate. Preferably with experience in shipping and warehousing.
• A team player with the ability to multitask and organize work systematically
• Process Improvement mindset
• Data entry skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing and demanding environment.
• Hardworking, self-driven, willing to learn, and able to take initiative.
• Knowledge of SAP and having a forklift license will be an added advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a minimum of 2 - 3 years of related experience
