What you’ll do:

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs test strategies, updates, develops test plan for systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.

• Develops , Analyzes and reviews scripts for test cases on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution. Reviews Functionality guides and provides upfront gaps in implementation

• Writes and develops reports like scale and performance for protocols, competitor analysis for assigned portion of application and features.

• Leads a project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced test partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.

• Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development test regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

• Represents the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex projects.

• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

• Responsible for creating comprehensive and well-structured System Stress and Solution Test plans and test cases for Switching platform products.

• Perform thorough Solution and System Testing for L2, L3 Protocols and Features, specifically Application protocols and supportability/debuggability features are most preferrable.

• Responsible for AI based (is must requirement) Automation and tool/solution developments, contribute for greater quality deliverables

• Software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

• Collaborate with internal teams (Development, Engineering Support Teams) in troubleshooting issues observed during internal testing and end-user deployments.

• Collaborate with external teams as required to work on deliverables for logical closure on time

• Participate in fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative engineering practices

• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts etc,.

• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools ex IXIA, Spirent etc and test strategies

• Team player – highly motivated to drive things technically and more independently

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

• Typically 5 - 9 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Have Good Networking domain knowledge on Ethernet switching, Layer 2, Layer 3, Applications/Networking Protocols, Network Operating Systems

• Should have hands-on experience and expertise in testing in Layer 7 APPs and Domain specific features DHCP,DNS,NTP,TFTP,SNMP etc

• Should have hands-on experience and expertise in testing Scale, Performance and Solution testing for customer centric use cases validation

• Should have hands on experience on using AI tools like GHCP/Copilot to generate test plans and automate

• Should have hands on experience on AI based Automation and tools/solutions developments, contribute for greater quality deliverables

• Should have hands-on experience and expertise in testing network security protocols, cloud/REST exposure

• Good troubleshooting skills in a complex L2 & L3 Network solution environment

• Proven experience in software test methodologies, tools and processes -Ix Network, Spirent Test Centre, Ix Load, Python etc.

• Hands-on experience with AI based automated testing tools, AI based tools/solutions development

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Expertise in multiple test tools and scripting languages.

• Test software systems running on multiple platform types; run test cases for these in the area of functionality, negative testing, Solution testing, interoperability testing, scale and performance testing

• Software systems testing methodology, including AI based writing and execution of test plans, debugging of CFDs and development scripts.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
