Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

The Cloud Developer builds quality products through test plans, automation to meet the needs of mission-critical applications and is keen to deliver quality in day-to-day activities.

Implement new ideas and methods for testing, automating, debugging and delivering features with quality.

Collaborates with project managers, test engineers, development partners and cross functional teams to ensure effective and efficient quality delivery, deployment, configuration, monitoring and support of Cloud engagements.

The Cloud Developer provides business value expertise to execute innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as feature lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Works independently within an established framework and with moderate supervision.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for creating comprehensive and well-structured System Stress and Solution Test plans and test cases for Switching platform products.

  • Perform thorough Solution and System Testing for L2, L3 Protocols and Features

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Development, Engineering Support Teams) in troubleshooting issues observed during internal testing and end-user deployments.

  • Participate in fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative engineering practices

  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

  • Team player – highly motivated to drive things technically

What You need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in ECE, Computer Science, Information Systems, ECE or equivalent.

  • Typically 5-8 years of experience.

  • Networking certifications would be a plus

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Have Good Networking domain knowledge on Ethernet switching, Layer 2, Layer 3 Networking Protocols, Network Operating Systems

  • Should have hands-on experience and expertise in testing in Layer 2 and Domain specific features MSTP, LAG, MVRP, Front Plane Stacking, PTP, AVB etc

  • Should have hands-on experience and expertise in testing Unicast and Multicast Routing Protocols

  • Should have hands-on experience and expertise in testing network security protocols

  • Good troubleshooting skills in a complex L2 & L3 Network solution environment

  • Proven experience in software test methodologies, tools and processes -Ix Network, Spirent Test Centre, Ix Load, Python etc.

  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools

  • Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Python Requirements – Automation & Scripting

  • Strong proficiency in Python scripting and automation

  • Experience building automation scripts and CLI tools

  • Ability to automate system, data, or infrastructure-related tasks

  • Knowledge of error handling, debugging, and script optimization

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and Git

  • Experience with automation frameworks or tools like pytest etc

AI / ML Requirements – Good to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Machine Learning concepts, including:

Supervised and unsupervised learning

  • Classification, regression, clustering

  • Familiarity with NLP, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, or RAG-based systems is an added advantage

Additional Skills:

Cloud Architectures, Cross Domain Knowledge, Design Thinking, Development Fundamentals, DevOps, Distributed Computing, Microservices Fluency, Full Stack Development, Release Management, Security-First Mindset, User Experience (UX)
