Role Overview
The Section Manager is a senior engineering leader responsible for driving enterprise-scale cloud-native and cloud-deployed platforms built on cutting-edge cloud and networking technologies. This role leads managers and senior technologists, owns end-to-end delivery execution, and delivers measurable engineering and business impact aligned with organizational strategy.
Operating at the intersection of technology, execution, and business value, the role shapes long-term technical direction, builds high-performing teams, and ensures predictable delivery of cloud solutions.
Leadership & Organizational Impact

Lead and mentor first-line managers (MG1) and senior individual contributors (Expert/Master level), driving high performance and strong accountability across engineering teams.

Own engineering execution and business outcomes that materially influence business unit performance and broader organizational goals.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, contributing to long-term technical strategy and capability planning.

Plan, direct, and oversee high-impact operational and strategic initiatives across cloud, networking, and enterprise platforms.

Build, scale, and develop a best-in-class engineering organization through strategic hiring, coaching, and succession planning.
-
Typically manage 10+ direct reports and operate with significant cross-functional influence.

Report to Director-level leadership or above.
What you'll do:
Enterprise Engineering Leadership
Provide direct leadership to a large, multi-layered engineering organization responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, deploying, and sustaining enterprise cloud platforms and services.
End-to-End Delivery Ownership
Drive multiple concurrent, high-impact programs from concept through architecture, development, deployment, and lifecycle operations, ensuring predictable execution and quality outcomes.
Strategic Program Governance
Define scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation in partnership with architects and engineering leaders, aligning delivery with business priorities and customer commitments.
Cross-Functional Execution Excellence
Orchestrate global, cross-functional teams; proactively manage risks; remove delivery barriers; and ensure outcomes meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
Innovation & Technology Stewardship
Stay ahead of emerging cloud technologies, architectures, and methodologies, ensuring continuous modernization and competitive differentiation.
Executive Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate closely with senior management, business leaders, and domain experts to translate business strategy into scalable technical solutions. Provide transparent updates on progress, results, and strategic insights.
Talent & Capability Development
Recruit, mentor, and develop high-caliber engineering talent while fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What you need to bring:
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
-
15+ years of progressive industry experience in cloud, networking, or enterprise software domains.
-
5+ years of people leadership experience, including at least 2+ years in second-line management leading managers and senior technologists.
-
Demonstrated track record of delivering large-scale engineering programs with measurable business impact.
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep expertise in architecting and delivering enterprise-scale cloud solutions across networking, NMS, and cloud application domains.
Overall Profile
This role demands a balanced leader who combines deep technical expertise, operational excellence, strategic foresight, and strong people leadership to deliver sustained engineering innovation and business growth.
