As a Senior Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Employee Platforms, you provide specialized expertise to influence the target state architecture and strategy. As an SRE Architect at JPMorgan Chase, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and evolving the next generation of SRE systems for enterprise HR and employee platform solutions. You will architect systems that are secure, scalable, and resilient, supporting millions of employees and HR transactions and enabling seamless workforce management worldwide. Your expertise will span the full spectrum of SRE for HR platform processes, workforce analytics, employee self-service systems, and other cutting-edge technologies, ensuring JPMorgan Chase remains the leader in employee experience innovation.

You will demonstrate strategic vision, technical mastery, and executive-level influence, collaborating across product, engineering, operations, and business teams. You will set the architectural direction for mission-critical systems, drive adoption of emerging technologies, and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards. As a thought leader, you will mentor future architects and engineers, championing a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee the implementation of robust, high-performance SRE and Automation products for HR platforms, ensuring alignment with JPMorgan Chase ‘s enterprise architecture standards
  • Envision and create a transformation roadmap to leverage agents in automating existing operational activities (ITSM and Ops) with HR Technology.
  • Drive observability patterns for large 3rd party platforms/services HR Technology uses extensively.
  • Define and deliver the target-state architecture and roadmap for site reliability and platform resilience spanning Gaia, AWS, and legacy systems
  • Architect and optimize core HR system processes, including employee onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, talent management, workforce analytics, and identity management
  • Ensure our partners' ability to not only test in QA, UAT, and Performance environments but also enable the ability to condition data in those environments
  • Establish and enforce architectural best practices, standards, and guidelines across multiple teams and projects, ensuring security, scalability, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead SRE practices including observability, incident management, capacity planning, and chaos engineering to ensure system reliability and availability
  • Anticipate industry trends and emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML in HR analytics, automated remediation, predictive scaling, AIOps), shaping architectural direction to support Chase's long-term growth and innovation
  • Present complex technical concepts and architectural strategies to senior leadership, clients, and partners in a clear, compelling manner
  • Build trust and credibility with senior leaders, clients, regulators, and partners

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience
  • Deep expertise in SRE principles: observability, monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and reliability engineering
  • Deep expertise in "Agentic AI" tech stack and proven record of implementing agents in ITSM and business processes.
  • Strong understanding of HR systems and employee platform architectures
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud architectures, distributed systems, security, and data management
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and HR compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams in a global environment
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across functions and teams to deliver modern architecture
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems across various technical disciplines

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in SRE or platform architecture, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale, mission-critical enterprise systems.
