- As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking
- Connected Commerce, you are an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role involves promoting significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, utilizing deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to address a diverse array of challenges across multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, and operational stability.
- Deep knowledge of design, architecture, data modeling, integration, cloud data services, data domain driven design, best practices, and industry trends in engineering and product development
- Practical experience with AWS, big data technologies, and data engineering disciplines.
- Advanced experience in one or more data engineering disciplines, e.g. streaming, ETL/ELT, event processing.
- Proficient in modern technologies such as Kafka streaming, Spark, Python, Java, Cloud, Airflow, Kubernetes
- Proficiency in SQL and different on-prem databases and other cloud native relational databases, e.g. Aurora, Snowflake, Athena, Postgres, Databricks, Iceberg
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. & Ability to evaluate and recommend technologies for future state architecture.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience having been a technical lead/mentor for a team
- Experience with modern technologies such as Kafka streaming, DBT, Spark, Python, Java, Cloud, Airflow, etc. using data mesh & data lake.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Business architecture knowledge and experience with architecture assessment frameworks.
- Must have an experience working in a team, and ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions
