The Product Development team within J.P. Morgan Asset Management is responsible for the design, development and management of J.P. Morgan's product range, helping to enhance and expand the market share of our global franchise.
As a Vice President / Associate in the Product Development Team, you will join our team in Taiwan, supporting our businesses in Taiwan and Korea. As you gain experience and product knowledge, your role will evolve, providing you with a dynamic and enriching career path.
Job responsibilities
- Draft local fund documents for Taiwan Onshore Funds, Hong Kong Unit Trusts registered in Taiwan and Luxembourg SICAVs that are registered in Taiwan and Korea
- Liaising with internal parties, external legal counsel and regulatory authorities for new fund registrations and product management matters. Respond to regulator's questions in a timely and professional manner to closely track the registration progress
- Keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments in covered markets and upcoming changes to global product ranges that may impact the fund ranges distributed in Asia region
- Operate as a subject matter expert on new products, changes to existing products or newly introduced product features, to support local and regional sales and marketing efforts
- Develop a strong and effective partnership with internal stakeholders (e.g. sales, portfolio management, operations, controls, marketing, etc.), with an aim at understanding market needs and meeting commercial objectives in a timely manner
- Drive and manage local and regional product development initiatives, liaising with key stakeholders, regional and global internal parties, and external legal counsel
- Adopt firm-wide "best practices" and adhere to applicable governance processes for all product development initiatives
- Support / assist the regional and global Product Development team in identifying product gaps and opportunities, capitalizing on market and regulatory developments and trends and reviewing the commercial viability of the local product range
- Prepare for and present new product initiatives at local and regional product committees and, if required, also at global committees
- Participate actively and provide feedback in the implementation of product related systems or other technology projects
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience within the Taiwan funds industry; less years of experience may be considered as Associate
- Sound working knowledge of the funds and the regulatory environment of Taiwan and Korea
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex matters in a concise and meaningful way
- Experience working with geographically-distributed and functionally-diverse workgroups
- Comfort with ambiguity and dynamically shifting priorities, timelines, and demands
- Experience of working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Proven ability of drafting offering documents
- Highly proficient in the use of MS Office, in particular Power
Point and Excel:
- Language competency - fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin
- Professional license: SITCA License, or Senior Brokerage License is a must
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficiency in Korean is a plus
- Experience of the funds business in Korea
- Professional qualifications such as CFA is a plus
- Proficiency in data terminal, i.e. Morningstar, Lipper, Bloomberg, etc.
- Degree in business / law / finance
