Overview: This is a broad and dynamic role within CIB Finance, responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance control across LATAM and Canada. The position requires active collaboration with Product Control (PC), Risk, TCIO, and other cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience and adaptability, managing a wide range of regulatory, accounting, and control-related issues. This role offers significant exposure and development opportunities, with the intention to train and prepare the individual to potentially step into the CM LATAM Lead (VP) position within 2-3 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the finance control environment for CIB in LATAM and Canada, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Actively engage with Product Control, Risk, TCIO, and other teams to resolve finance-related issues and drive process improvements.
- Lead and coordinate issue management, including identification, escalation, and remediation of findings to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Support remediation efforts for audit and regulatory findings, ensuring timely and sustainable solutions.
- Participate in and lead various mini-projects across teams, including process enhancements, new regulatory implementations, and control improvements.
- Maintain and enhance the controls framework, including risk assessment, control design, testing, and documentation.
- Ensure robust governance and oversight of all finance processes, including regulatory reporting and capital management.
Controls Management Requirements (Associate Level):
- Solid understanding of internal controls frameworks and their application in financial services.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and testing controls, including documentation and evidence gathering.
- Ability to identify control gaps, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and best practices for governance and oversight.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and regions.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
