The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas. This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a full range of documentation relating to securities financing transactions (e.g., Master Repurchase Agreements, term sheets for bespoke trades, Master Securities Forward Transaction Agreements, guarantees, NDAs).
- Providing regulatory and legal advice in connection with regulatory requirements.
- Providing legal guidance in connection with new product initiatives (e.g., intraday repo using blockchain technology, sponsored repo).
- Evaluating legal netting and collateral enforceability.
- Managing outside counsel relationships.
This position will give you the opportunity to collaborate directly with other areas of JPMorgan outside of the legal department, including, Sales, Traders, Compliance, Risk and Technology, among others.
The required qualifications are:
- 3+ years’ of post-law school practice experience with a major law firm or in-house at a major financial institution. Prior experience with securities financing and/or drafting and negotiating agreements is helpful, but not Prior experience with derivatives preferred
- Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail
- Polished verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with various internal partners outside of the legal department, as well as counterparties.
- Ability to manage projects and work independently
- Team player, confident and proactive. Willingness to learn. Comfortable asking for guidance.
- Law degree. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment
- All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment
