DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, architect, and develop scalable, high-performance financial applications ensuring compliance with SDLC principles, focusing on code quality and secure coding practices. Be involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity. Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices and implement resiliency patterns to enhance the system stability. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues and optimize performance with caching strategies and CDN integration. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with product owners, product analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Solution Architect, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: designing and developing scalable, high-performance back- end services and APIs leveraging Java with Spring Boot, Kafka, and Spring Batch by incorporating reactive programming, asynchronous communication, and dependency injection for optimal performance; designing and building RESTful and GraphQL APIs; implementing circuit breakers, bulkheads, retries, and rate-limiters enhancing fault tolerance and system stability; managing distributed and NoSQL databases including Cassandra; building SQL queries and stored procedures in PostgreSQL; adhering to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform and CloudFormation; managing applications in AWS utilizing services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Snowflake, and CloudWatch. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitLab CI; collaborating with DevOps teams to streamline deployments and manage infrastructure for faster delivery cycles and minimal downtime; developing and executing automated testing strategies using Cucumber for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) ensuring adherence to TDD principles; conducting performance testing with JMeter or Blaze Meter which includes load and stress testing; Managing and orchestrating containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes for rapid deployment and efficient resource utilization; monitoring application health using Dynatrace and Splunk in proactively identifying and resolving the issues; applying Chaos Engineering principles using Gremlin or Chaos Monkey to simulate failure scenarios and ensure system resiliency; managing identity and access controls using ADFS OAuth-based authentication and Kerberos-based protocols, ensuring secure app-to-app communication. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: navigating through mainframe green screens, reading COBOL, JCL, and VSAM, to ensure seamless integration with modern microservices.
