As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities. You manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Ensures high-quality software development and delivery for the Bengaluru-based team
- Writes critical, production-grade code as a hands-on engineering leader
- Leads architecture and design reviews, and run peer and group code review sessions
- Provides code review sign-off and enforce engineering standards and best practices
- Mentors and coach engineers to elevate technical depth and craftsmanship
- Oversees end-to-end project execution and remove delivery blockers to meet timelines
- Drives technical excellence across design, analytics, coding, testing, and performance; champion leading-edge technologies and model continuous learning
- Manages team performance and foster a collaborative, high-trust engineering culture
- Sets and communicates technical direction aligned with business and functional requirements
- Coordinates with cross-functional stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and deliver scope
- Builds and coaches expertise in the asset management trade and positions lifecycle from front office through custodians or fund administrators to fund accounting
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Degree in Computer Science from a reputed university and expertise in technology disciplines
- Deep knowledge and expertise in Java programming
- Experience working through entire lifecycle of large complex application build-out from scratch and delivery for either a large financial organization or a top-class technology product team.
- Experience in building and deploying applications for Private or Public Cloud.
- Experience in the role of software engineer building a truly distributed architecture based system, especially involving large data volumes and real-time distribution.
- Knowledge of CI/CD like Jenkins, DevOps tool chain, and a test-driven approach to agile delivery.
- Experience with implementing middle-tier data caching solutions (e.g. Gemfire, Redis) and/or designing/delivering messaging-based solutions (e.g. Kafka)
- Knowledge of modern architectures based on microservices, REST APIs, NoSQL stores (e.g. Cassandra), and event-based architecture will be key.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders
- Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources
- Ability to deal with and navigate difficult situations through strong teamwork and a focus on resolution
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
