J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management is seeking an experienced Vice President, Business Manager to join the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (GFICC) Finance and Business Management Team, with a dedicated focus on our expanding Private Credit platform. This is a leadership role, reporting to the Head of U.S. GFICC Finance and Business Management, and is designed for candidates with a proven track record in private credit, direct lending, and alternative credit strategies.
As the Vice President Business Manager supporting Private Credit, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, optimizing operational processes, and supporting the delivery of key initiatives across our private credit business. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across GFICC, Finance and Business Management, and key partner groups such as Control Management, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Technology, with a particular emphasis on the unique requirements and challenges of private credit.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the GFICC Head of Private Credit to lead the prioritization and execution of strategic business initiatives for the GFICC Private Credit business, ensuring alignment with broader firm objectives.
- Lead the design and execution of the operating platform, integrating internal technology solutions and managing third-party vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with Product Development and Investment Specialists to support bespoke client structuring and new product launches.
- Organize and present complex information in a strategic and compelling manner for presentations to senior management and investment committees.
- Develop, document, and maintain procedures tailored to private credit business practices.
- Manage audit processes and regulatory examinations, including preparation, response coordination, and remediation of findings.
- Partner with Control Management to ensure the private credit business meets risk and operational control objectives, including the completion of action plans and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and partner with other Business Management teams across Asset Management and other JPMC lines of businesses to share best practices, particularly in relation to private credit market developments, regulatory developments, etc.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 7+ years’ experience in financial markets, with a strong background in private credit, direct lending, or alternative credit strategies.
- Proactive and effective communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, investment professionals, and external partners.
- Strong independent work ethic, with the ability to manage complex, fast-paced, and multi-faceted projects, and to escalate issues appropriately.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory, operational, and risk management requirements unique to private credit and direct lending.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a methodical, self-disciplined approach.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a passion for private credit and a willingness to further develop expertise in the space.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Advanced knowledge of fixed income and alternative credit products.
- Experience working with institutional investors, private equity sponsors, and borrowers in the private credit market.
- Willingness to accept responsibility and drive excellence in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
