DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Identify, measure, monitor, manage, report and govern operational risk for markets lines of business. Implement firm's Operational Risk Management framework across businesses areas. Investigate and resolve key and emerging risks for Markets lines of business. Assess the risk impact of new business initiatives and change management. Analyze operational risk events to assess and challenge root cause analysis, recurrent themes and remediation to drive risk mitigation. Review and challenge first line of defense assessments of the operational risks and control environment through quantitative and qualitative means. Monitor the risks and collaborate with the Center of Excellence team to test the effectiveness of controls. Report the results and changes to risk assessments and the results of monitoring and testing activities to business management and in risk and control forums. Monitor electronic trading risk management frameworks, including the review and approval of new or materially changed e-trading activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Operational Risk Management, Operations Control Manager, Operations Control Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Performing end-to-end analysis of a global financial services institution's risk and control environment to identify gaps and weaknesses and determine the root cause of control breaks, including analysis of markets, operations, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, credit default swaps, index swaps, swaptions, and bespoke tranches; performing ongoing analysis throughout trade lifecycle processes, including trade capture and booking, affirmation, confirmation, clearing, settlement, reconciliations, financial payoffs, and post-trade analysis; evaluating compliance with regulatory requirements and accuracy of regulatory reports including the Dodd-Frank act, Regulation K, Regulation W, the European Market Infrastructure Regulation, and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive; creating interactive dashboards in Tableau with real-time data integration by using calculated fields, parameters, and data blending techniques; utilizing Alteryx for designing and implementing complex data workflows including transformation, predictive analytics, and data blending including sophisticated joins and union techniques; automating data processing tasks, integrating with data sources, and enhancing spreadsheet functionality with custom macros using Excel VBA and VBScript; using Microsoft Visio for developing detailed process maps and flowcharts, incorporating cross-functional data flows, and visualizing system interactions. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: Identifying and mitigating operational risks in e-trading, including data integrity issues, and process gaps and weaknesses; assessing new or materially changed e-trading activities and strategies, including ensuring relevant controls are in place to mitigate operational risk.

Full-Time. Salary: $139,500-$193,000 per year.
