As a skilled Business Analyst with deep expertise in the payments domain within our team, you will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to analyze requirements, design solutions, and support the delivery of high-quality payment products and services.
Job responsibilities
- Gathers, analyzes, and documents business requirements for payment processing, settlement, and reconciliation workflows.
- Collaborates with product owners, operations, and technology teams to translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
- Optimizes end-to-end payment flows, including initiation, validation, clearing, settlement, and exception handling.
- Supports the implementation and enhancement of payment systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT, SEPA, ACH, RTGS).
- Conducts gap analysis between current and target state processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Facilitates workshops, walkthroughs, and stakeholder meetings to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
- Prepares and maintain process documentation, business rules, and data mapping artifacts.
- Assists in user acceptance testing (UAT), defect triage, and production rollout activities.
- Monitors regulatory and market changes impacting payments, and support compliance initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise on payment products, transaction types, and financial messaging formats.
- Acts as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery. Strong understanding of payment processing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception management.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the payments domain (banking, financial services, fintech, or similar).
- Strong understanding of payment processing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception management.
- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and data application, including hands-on experience with major data visualization platforms
- Advanced knowledge of data analytics techniques, with experience in developing and interpreting models, diagrams, and data-driven insights
- Proven ability to apply technical fluency in current and relevant platforms, software tools, and technologies to drive innovative solutions
- Strong track record of leading through change, navigating ambiguous situations, and managing dependencies in complex projects
- Experience with payment system implementations or migrations
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of clearing and settlement systems (e.g., CHIPS, Fedwire, TARGET2)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in payments (e.g., AML, KYC, PSD2).
- Exposure to agile methodologies and working in an agile environment.
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or similar) is a plus.
