Job Summary

As an SSA Senior Sales Executive Director, you will originate and close complex, multi‑product treasury and payments solutions while owning senior relationships with our largest, most strategic Corporate Sector clients across SSA. You will engage deeply with client headquarters and their global operations to design, solution, implement, and manage transformational programs that modernize cash, payments, and liquidity—delivering measurable impact. You’ll navigate multifaceted organizations at all levels, champion our sales strategy, and ensure exceptional relationship outcomes. Regional travel will be a requirement of the role.

What Success Will Look Like (12–18 Months): Multi‑year account plans executed for priority clients; visible pipeline conversion and revenue growth. Reference‑able client wins that modernize treasury operations and deliver measurable efficiency, control, and working capital benefits. Strengthened franchise positioning with Africa’s most significant corporates; enhanced partnerships across client HQs and global footprints. Uplift in controls, client satisfaction, and delivery consistency—reinforcing a legacy of excellence in Transactional Banking.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sales origination for top‑tier corporates across SSA, from C‑suite engagement through commercial negotiation and close.

  • Build and sustain long‑term, multi‑level client relationships; serve as a trusted advisor on treasury and payments strategy.

  • Provide comprehensive coverage of client operations at HQ and globally to ensure seamless, end‑to‑end delivery and service.

  • Collaborate with product, implementation, risk, and service teams to design and execute tailored solutions across: Cash management and liquidity (notional/physical pooling, forecasting, cash concentration); Payables and receivables optimization (real‑time/instant rails, RTP, ACH, wires, virtual accounts, request‑to‑pay); Cross‑border flows and FX risk mitigation integrated with payment workflows; Connectivity and modernization (APIs, ERP/TMS integration, ISO 20022, reconciliation and reporting); Controls and compliance (sanctions screening, AML/KYC alignment, fraud and cyber controls)

  • Analyze client data and market trends to identify growth opportunities and innovation pathways.

  • Represent J.P. Morgan Payments at client forums and industry events, demonstrating thought leadership in Transactional Banking.

  • Develop and execute multi‑year account plans and sales strategies to meet revenue, balance, and pipeline objectives.

  • Ensure rigorous adherence to internal policies, conduct standards, and regulatory requirements across all interactions.

  • Mentor and coach junior team members; foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Track and report on sales performance, pipeline health, and client outcomes; recommend course corrections as needed.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in cash management/transaction banking sales and strategic relationship management with large corporates.

  • Strong knowledge of payments and treasury products, including regional SSA payment rails and cross‑border capabilities.

  • Proven ability to identify, qualify, and advance new opportunities; credibility engaging CFO, Treasurer, and Board‑level stakeholders.

  • Robust account planning discipline with a track record of execution and revenue delivery.

  • Creative solutioning and problem‑solving skills; comfortable structuring complex, multi‑country deals.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Proven relationship‑building ability across client and internal stakeholders.

  • Superb attention to detail and time management in fast‑paced environments.

  • Solid understanding of Compliance and KYC processes; strong risk and control mindset.

  • Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills across cross‑functional, global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to demonstrate extensive transaction banking/treasury services or payments with a top‑tier bank or fintech.

  • Experience covering some of Africa’s largest corporates and multinationals, with a record of solving complex treasury challenges across SSA and globally.

  • Familiarity with ERP/TMS integrations, APIs, ISO 20022 migrations, and payment modernization programs.

  • Exposure to FX integration with payments, liquidity risk management, and enterprise‑grade fraud controls.

  • Ability to operate across diverse regulatory environments in SSA.
