As the Trading and Supervisory Management Control Manager within Wealth Management Control Management team, you will be part of an agile, future-focused, and collaborative team. You will assess the operational strengths, vulnerabilities, and associated controls of our trading platforms, proactively identify and respond to high-profile issues or emerging risks, and promote cross firm responses to regulators and audit teams. Reporting to the Global Trading Controls and Venues Director, with additional accountability to the Global Supervisory Controls Management Director, you will be part of an agile, future focused, and collaborative team. On any day of the week, you might assess the operational strengths, vulnerabilities and associated controls of our trading platforms; proactively identify and respond to high profile issues or emerging risks of utmost importance to C-suite level executives, or drive cross firm responses to regulator and audit teams on market conduct-related processes, supervisory management controls, and business models.
Job responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of comprehensive control strategies to identify and mitigate compliance and operational risks
- Contribute to developing comprehensive and integrated view of risks and controls across core trading operations, ensuring robust documentation, consistency, and accuracy in business controls, supervisory management, and surveillance
- Utilize advanced process analysis, data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Model (LLM), or other automation tool skills to interpret business needs, identify trends, and generate innovative solutions to enhance the control environment
- Engage with internal stakeholders, facilitating open communication and collaboration to drive mutually beneficial outcomes and uphold the integrity of our business
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 7 years of experience in risk or control management roles within Financial Services industry, with a focus on compliance and operational risk mitigation
- Capability to implement robust controls to safeguard business operations and meet critical regulatory requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in process and data analysis, leveraging these skills to enhance control environments and interpret business needs and trends
- Demonstrate confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong culture and risk management
- Strong skills in internal stakeholder management, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Strong project management skills and a commitment to operational excellence
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities and recommendation for improvement
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Capability to leverage Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning technology in risk management and utilize automation to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency
- Extensive industry and market product knowledge to effectively navigate the financial services landscape
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner to drive organizational change
- Effective mentoring skills to develop team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Ability to operate autonomously while consistently delivering results and making informed decisions aligned with organizational objectives
- Prior experience in banks will be beneficial
