As a Full Stack Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank**,** you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. You will work on highly impactful projects, building client-facing applications and delivering end-to-end solutions including compelling UI and robust backend services. This role is a hands-on technical engineering role with exposure to applications in Data and AI engineering space.

Job responsibilities

• Develops performant and scalable front end and back end applications

• Adopts the latest UI and backend trends, techniques, and technologies

• Builds re-usable capabilities and patterns for fast UI application development using firmwide UI toolkit and standards

• Develops secure and high-quality production code, robust software design and architecture

• Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes

• Designs and implements hands-on solutions while providing technical leadership and mentorship to more junior team members

• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

• Hands-on practical experience in full stack development - frontend, backend and data

• Proficient in coding in one or more of UI languages, e.g., ReactJS (preferred), Javascript, CSS, Angular, Typescript, and a willingness to learn others

• Proficient in backend engineering languages such as Python (preferred) or Java

• Experience with building highly performant UI applications in Cloud environment, such as AWS

• Exposure to cloud technologies for front end and backend development

• Experience with database, microservices and API technologies (e.g., Elastic Search, PostgreSQL, FastAPI)

• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to articulate concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma

• Experience with JPMorgan’s open source design system/UI toolkit SALT

• Practical experience with performance optimization techniques

• Prior exposure to data-intensive application development in large corporate environments or financial industry

• Experience building re-usable standardized UI capabilities for accelerated development
