As a Business Development Manager in Merchant Services, you will be responsible for driving growth and expansion of our merchant services offerings by identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships, and delivering tailored solutions that meet their unique merchant service needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within a defined territory, working closely with the Commercial Banking coverage team.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients to support ongoing business growth.
- Implement effective, sector-specific sales strategies to achieve assigned revenue targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Treasury Services (TS) and banking partners to enhance merchant services offerings.
- Leverage partnerships to identify joint business opportunities, streamline service offerings, and ensure a cohesive client approach.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in payment processing for the government sector.
- Use industry knowledge to develop business strategies and identify areas for growth.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals, RFPs, and presentations to clients, clearly articulating the value proposition of merchant services solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and customer support, to ensure client satisfaction and successful service implementation.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development activities, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or equivalent work-related experience
- Proven track record of success in business development and exceeding sales goals
- Strong understanding of payment processing solutions and merchant services products
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external partners
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong drive to achieve and exceed assigned revenue targets
FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE ACT: This position is subject to Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. As such, an employment offer for this position is contingent on JPMorgan Chase’s review of criminal conviction history, including pretrial diversions or program entries.
