Purpose:

We are seeking an outstanding Associate Scientist II for our in vitro discovery and protein engineering group, who can support the development, implementation, and utilization of phage and yeast display libraries for antibody discovery, or other emerging molecular optimization techniques to support the development of biologics (multispecific antibodies, CAR-T, ADCs, etc.) in various disease areas. The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in the discovery and molecular engineering of biotherapeutics while also developing new processes and technologies for biologics discovery. The position's responsibilities also include portfolio project leadership and interaction with world-class scientists in different therapeutic areas, including oncology, immunology, metabolic diseases, neurology, and infectious diseases. This position is laboratory-based, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work with biological samples and chemicals.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing and optimizing in vitro display techniques such as phage display and yeast display for molecule discovery and selection.
  • Conducting experiments involving DNA/RNA library construction, DNA purification, protein expression, purification, and characterization.
  • Executing assays to evaluate the binding, off-rate, and functionality of selected candidates (flow cytometry, ELISA, Octet, etc.).
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and documenting experimental data while maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project objectives and timelines.
  • Contributing to troubleshooting, protocol development, and the continuous improvement of laboratory workflows.
  • Preparing technical reports, presentations, and summaries for internal discussions and external collaborations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, cloning, and transformations, etc.
  • Familiarity with in vitro display technologies (e.g., phage display, yeast display) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in assay development, including ELISA and other binding/activity assays, is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automation platforms or high-throughput screening systems.
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis and library design.
  • Prior experience in therapeutic discovery or biotechnology industries.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$76,000.00 - $121,900.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
