Job Description:

We are looking for a new Senior Specialist, Source-to-Contract (Research & Development), EMEA to join our team.

The Senior Specialist, Source-to-Contract (Research & Development), will ensure that the Regional GS (Global Services) Procurement Source-to-Contract organisation delivers results in support of the Global Services, One Procurement and Johnson & Johnson business strategy and objectives.

The role collaborates closely with Business Partners, Suppliers, Legal and Compliance functions to support the operational execution of prioritized continuous improvement projects, sourcing events, contracting cases, and other essential activities. It involves executing the organization’s strategic Source-to-Contract plan, which includes maintaining supplier relationships, conducting sourcing events, negotiating contracts, authoring contracts, and managing contract activities.

The Senior Specialist works to identify and address the needs of internal stakeholders, contributes improvements to procurement strategies and remains abreast of current market trends.

This is a seasoned individual contributor, who works independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts the day-to-day operations of the Source-to-Contract function, including sourcing event management, price and other contract terms negotiation, contract drafting and execution, and stakeholder management activities. Delivers against defined Service Levels.

  • Perform data analytics, forecast demand, and identify baseline for purchasing that meet prioritized business requirement. Understand your data.

  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, legal and company policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments in the development and execution of strategies and plans that improve the organization’s profitability and competitive position, utilizing market intelligence, risk assessments, and total cost projections.

  • Drives continuous improvements in user experience, effectiveness, and efficiency in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Supports development and implementation of automation and AI (Artificial Intelligence) initiatives within assigned area of responsibility.

  • Creates Value by developing strong, value-added working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers with a view to pro-actively understand and constructively influence their needs and expectations.

  • Mentors and collaborates amongst a team of Source-to-Contracting specialists.

  • Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent University degree is required.

  • An MBA or further advanced degree is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 4-6 years of Procurement, Finance, or other relevant business experience.

  • Collaboration, Communication & Influencing Skills: Should be regarded as a constructive player representing Source-to-Contract and overall procurement in various teams within the company and outside. Should have the requisite communication skills to communicate & influence objectives and then develop collaborative relationships both internally and externally to achieve them.

  • Learning Agility & Openness to Change.

  • Fluency in English (written and oral) is required.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in contract drafting and negotiation including commercial, legal and compliance provisions.

  • Understanding of Research & Development categories.

  • A good understanding of Requisition-to-pay and Source-to-Settle processes and operations.

  • Experience in one or more Procurement Functional domains: Sourcing, Contracting or Category management.

  • Shared Services Industry experience.

  • Fluency in one other language (written and oral) for the supported region.

Other:

  • May require up to 5% of domestic and international travel.
