Are you passionate about making a real difference in patients’ lives? At Abiomed, part of Johnson & Johnson Med Tech, we are revolutionizing cardiac care with the Impella® heart pump platform.
As a Therapy Development Manager, your primary goal is to establish Impella® and Heart Recovery as the new Standard of Care across the Nordics. You will drive therapy adoption through physician and hospital staff training, strategic account management, and clinical excellence.
We are recruiting for several Therapy and Business Development Consultant located in any of the Nordic countries, reporting into the Therapy and Business Development Manager Nordics.
Key Responsibilities
- Therapy Development: This will be achieved through establishing our brand and through training MDs & hospital staff about the appropriate use of Impella ensuring excellent clinical outcomes. Leverage existing accounts for deeper and wider Impella Therapy penetration and build relationships with critical decision makers and KOL'S in the assigned area.
- Account Management/ Account Training: Enable and drive our patient growth and clinical performance in key centres throughout the EMEA Region for all our indications (by priority). Coordinate our strategy with distributors, implement/lead clinical activities and establish a transparent case reporting like our direct distribution markets. Initiate and coordinate Abiomed customer training programs to develop/expand physician skills to drive the Impella adoption in active sites as well in new sites. Establish new Abiomed Centres of Excellence within the EMEA region.
- Patient Support: Improve patient outcomes constantly by implementing latest Abiomed clinical strategies, supporting clinical staff within the cathlab, OR and ICU. Perform After Action Review’s with MD’s following each case. Establish peer-to-peer networks across the region to share best practices. Plan regular visits to all institutions with active Impella programs to monitor activity and collect clinically relevant data.
- Distribution partners support: Establish strong relationships to our distribution partners in the EMEA Region. Execute quarterly strategy meetings and After-Action Reviews to monitor progress and to ensure continuous learning and improvement. Ensure weekly communication with distribution partners to align & ensure that they meet Abiomed’s expectations (Operational Plan and clinical/training/case reporting commitments).
Qualifications
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing (cardiac specialization) or equivalent clinical background.
- Extensive experience in medical devices, preferably in interventional cardiology or cardiac surgery.
- 3+ years of direct patient support in a Cath Lab, ICU, or CCU required, preferably in MCS technologies
- Ideally already existing network with KOLs (Heart Surgery, Heart Failure Cardiologists)
- Located in Norway, preferably in the Oslo area with high flexibility and willingness to travel extensively across the region (up to 80%)
- Strong clinical training and account management skills.
