This role ensures compliance with legislation across jurisdictions, client governance standards, Silent-Aire and Johnson Controls (JCI) global EHS policies and standards, while fostering a proactive safety culture. The position requires regular travel across Europe to support high-risk projects and strategic initiatives.

This position reports directly into the Projects and Aftermarket Services EHS Manager and is based in Ireland.

What we can offer

  • Competitive salary and bonus scheme
  • Comprehensive benefits package including 7% match pension, free life assurance, employee assistance program, employee referral scheme, employee discounts including high street brands, cycle 2 work scheme and discount on Johnson Controls security products.
  • Extensive product and on the job/cross training opportunities with outstanding resources available
  • Encouraging and collaborative ethos
  • Career development through various career ladders
  • Dedication to safety through our Zero Harm policy
  • Access to business resource groups and training on things we value.

How you will do it

  • Provide field‑based EHS leadership across projects and service activities throughout the EMEA region, with regular site presence.
  • Support the implementation of Silent‑Aire and JCI EHS policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring consistent application across all sites.
  • Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and behavioural observations, driving corrective actions to closure.
  • Act as the primary EHS point of contact for site supervisors, project managers, and field teams, providing practical, risk‑based advice.
  • Support project mobilisation, including EHS plans, RAMS reviews, permit‑to‑work systems, and contractor onboarding.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and support compliance with local EHS legislation and client requirements across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Deliver site‑based EHS training, inductions, and toolbox talks, tailored to construction, commissioning, and service activities.
  • Support high‑risk activities such as electrical works, lifting operations, work at height, confined spaces, and energy isolation (LOTO).
  • Interface directly with clients, main contractors, and regulatory bodies on EHS matters as required.
  • Track, analyse, and report EHS performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators to EMEA and global EHS leadership.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to supervisors and junior EHS personnel, promoting a strong safety culture and field ownership.

Travel Requirements

  • Frequent travel across Europe (Ireland, UK, Nordics, Spain, etc.) to support projects and undertaken EHS services in line with client requirements.

What we look for

  • A leader in Health and Safety – the ability to both build and maintain EHS management systems and resources.
  • Communicate with impact: across the layers of the organization and across boundaries, in both oral and written communication
  • Strong presentation skills towards internal and external parties
  • Team player mind set, but ability to operate effectively independently
  • A member of IOSH, Graduate level as a minimum (CMIOSH preferred)
  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental, Health and Safety management
  • 5-8 years EHS experience in Large Scale Construction or Data Centre Projects, preferably across Jurisdictions.
  • Strong Knowledge of EU Construction Safety Regulations.
  • Drive and enthusiasm, a self-starter who can prioritize and work with agility in this type of environment
  • Full driving license required
