What you will do:

  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventive maintenance on Life Safety systems (Electrical, Sprinkler, Suppression) across multiple manufacturers.
  • Work with low‑voltage wiring and related devices.
  • Follow a structured inspection schedule and complete all assigned work on time.
  • Document inspection results using a laptop or mobile device; input, retrieve, and archive inspection records.
  • Make minor system repairs and programming adjustments as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and training for junior inspectors or trainees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

How you will do it:

  • Use low‑voltage wiring techniques and associated equipment.
  • Accurately complete Service Acknowledgements and related documentation.
  • Always maintain compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Work in a variety of environments, including heights, confined spaces, and above-ceiling areas.
  • Support customers with professionalism and strong communication.

What we look for:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience working with low‑voltage electrical systems and Fire/Life Safety systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Capable of lifting 50–70 lbs. and working on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts to 40 ft.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and travel overnight when required.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and quick learner.
  • Valid driver’s license meeting company standards.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain required national, state, and local licenses.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Inspector Entrée Course (Electrical or Sprinkler).
  • NICET certification
  • State of MI - Fire Alarm License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using hand tools and multi-meters.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26.06 - 35.79 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
