What You Will Do
You will be responsible for managing the end‑to‑end presales engineering activities for Smart Infrastructure projects, specifically covering ELV systems such as CCTV, Public Address (PA), Emergency Call Box (ECB), Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS), and Networking (Passive & Active).
In this role, you will drive all techno‑commercial aspects of ELV systems within smart infrastructure projects. You will take ownership of all technical considerations required to secure project wins and actively support the HOTO process, ensuring seamless handover to D&E and Operations for booking approval.
How You Will Do It
- Conduct a detailed review of tender documents and inputs.
- Analyze project requirements and initiate kick‑off calls to align on scope, timelines, and expectations.
- Prepare system designs on provided floor plans and derive the BOQ when not supplied.
- Identify potential technical or commercial risks, communicate them proactively to stakeholders, and support mitigation planning.
- Engage with OEMs and subcontractors to obtain accurate technical solutions and proposals.
- Evaluate OEM proposals and commercial offers by comparing them with historical data and benchmark costs from the SCM database.
- Prepare optimized techno‑commercial costing sheets, proposals, and compliance statements after completing cost analysis.
- Perform self–quality checks and present solutions to design council experts before submitting deliverables to the sales.
- Conduct second‑level quality checks for deliverables prepared by other Application Engineers.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records in SFDC and complete timesheets and mandatory trainings on schedule.
- Negotiate with OEMs and coordinate with internal Ops/Post‑Sales teams to secure competitive pricing.
- Participate actively in daily/cadence calls with business teams.
- Contribute to strategy discussions aimed at improving win rates.
- Align daily activities with organizational KPIs such as Quality, OTD, Win Rate, and Productivity.
- Interact directly with customers to gather requirements and present solutions professionally.
How you will do it
- Review the tender inputs in detail.
- Analyze the requirement and initiate the Kick-off call for the scope and timeline agreement.
- Prepare designs on given floor plans to arrive with the BOQ; in case BOQ is unavailable.
- Identify potential issues/risks and proactively bring them to the customer’s knowledge and help to mitigate the identified risks.
- Initiate the discussion with OEMs & subcontractors and get the right solution and proposal from OEMs.
- Analyze the proposal and commercials received from the OEM and verify the same based on the past data and benchmark costing available in the SCM Database.
- Upon completion of cost comparison, prepare the optimized techno-commercial Costing sheet, Proposal, and Compliance Statements.
- Once the deliverables are ready, perform Self QC and present the solutions to the design council experts. Eventually, submit the deliverables to the Front Desk.
- Perform 2nd level QC of the deliverables done by other Application Engineers in the team.
- Update the SFDC regularly, and complete timesheet & assigned training on time.
- Actively negotiate and follow up with OEMs and Internal OPS/ Post Sales team to get the right prices for the project.
- Regularly participate in the Daily Call /Cadence Call with the business team.
- Actively derive the strategy for increasing the win rate.
- Align with Organization KPIs such as Quality, OTD, Win rate, Productivity, etc.
- Connect with the customer and get the requirements and present the device solution to the customer in a professional manner.
What We Look For
- BE degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication.
- Expertise in ITMS, ATCS, traffic enforcement, surveillance, VMS, and Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Enforcement Systems such as ANPR/LPR, Red Light Violation Detection (RLVD), Speed Violation Detection (SVD), No‑Helmet Detection, etc.
- Design understanding of traffic controllers and field sensors.
- Experience in preparing HLD, LLD, system sizing, network diagrams, storage plans, and availability models.
- Familiarity with standards such as MoRTH, IRC, BIS, NTCIP, ONVIF, and Smart City Mission guidelines.
- Knowledge of edge devices, central ITMS platforms, and high‑level analytics dashboards.
- Understanding of integration requirements with ICCC, State Police systems, e‑challan, VAHAN/SARATHI, and other government platforms.
- Awareness of cybersecurity frameworks including ISO 27001 and IEC 62443.
- Strong understanding of NTCIP, ONVIF, SNMP, Modbus, REST/MQTT APIs.
- Network expertise across Fiber, MPLS, VPN, 4G/5G, and SD‑WAN technologies.
- Knowledge of Data Center and Cloud platforms (Public and Private).
- Experience working with traffic signal controllers (e.g., Co SiCo St, SCATS), sensors, and related integration protocols.
- Proven experience delivering 2–3 Safe City / Smart City / Large Enterprise ITMS projects end‑to‑end.
- Capability to conduct customer workshops and technical training sessions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong team player with the ability to mentor others; leadership experience is an added advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership and ownership in project and customer engagements.
