We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Dublin 12.

What you will do

In this permanent, 100% office-based role you will work on a variety of challenging and innovative HVAC projects in the Data Centre area.

You will play a key role in supporting both engineering and sales teams during the quote stage and project execution. Your ability to quickly and accurately provide technical input for Air Handling Unit (AHU), Fan Wall and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handling) quotations will be essential to meeting client expectations and deadlines.

How you will do it

Quote Stage Support:

  • Provide rapid technical assessments and preliminary designs for AHU, CRAH and Fan Wall quotations.

  • Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to ensure accurate costing and technical compliance.

  • Prepare quick turn bid submittals and general arrangement drawings for AHUs, CRAH and Fan Wall.

Technical Design & Project Execution:

  • Provide technical design support to Mechanical Design Engineers within the engineering team and occasionally within the sales department.

  • Support project execution with the delivery of Technical and Bid Submittals and General arrangement drawings for Air Handling units.

  • Select and design components for AHUs and modular data centers, including fans, coils, and other equipment.

  • Compile Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assist with costing of units and components.

  • Participate in factory witness tests (FWT) and client pre-tests.

  • Interact with production and manufacturing and perform periodic inspections of units under construction.

  • Communicate and interact with internal and external clients to resolve technical queries.

  • Selection and design of components and equipment for Air handling Units and modular data centers including:

  • Design of custom air handling equipment to client’s specifications.

  • Design of computer room air handling units to client specifications.

  • Selection of fans, coils and other equipment components associated with air handling equipment and compiling BOM’s.

What we look for

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (BSc. Eng., B.Eng., M.Eng).

  • 6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

  • Proficient in drafting software (AutoCAD/Inventor) and proper drafting standards.

  • Strong understanding of AHU design principles and component selection.

  • Ability to interpret client specifications and translate them into preliminary designs rapidly.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and technical development.

  • Exudes confidence and tact in interacting with clients and colleagues

  • Has the ability to interact positively with outward facing clients

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial

  • Diligent, with an eye for detail
