Johnson Controls is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the growth and expansion of our electronic security business in Central America and Caribe. This role is focused on generating new business opportunities with end-user customers, building strategic relationships with customers, consultants, and designers as well as promoting the company’s security solutions portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a deep understanding of the Central American and Caribbean market and a proven track record in business development within the security sector.
Duties and Responsibilities

Identify, create, and capture new business opportunities in the electronic security sector, focusing on integrated solutions such as IP cameras, access control, alarms, and monitoring systems.

Develop and maintain long-term business relationships with key clients, including sectors such as banking, retail, industrial, corporate, and government but not limited to these.

Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to increase market penetration and achieve growth targets in the region.

Conduct market studies to understand industry trends, competitors, and client needs, adapting business strategies accordingly

Managing communications between key clients and internal teams.

Strategic planning to improve client results.

Ensure sales, profitability, and growth objectives defined by the company are met.

Working with design, sales team, logistics, managers, marketing, and team members from other departments to ensure all client needs met.

Collaborating with other sales team members to maximize profit by up-selling or cross-selling.

Planning and presenting reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with managers and directors.

Analyzing client data to provide customer relationship management.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and business development within the electronic security, technology, or related sectors. At least 3 years of sales experience must include experience selling directly to end-user customers as a business development manager, as well as working with consultants and designers.

History of successful sales or business development wins in the security industry and of meeting sales goals, with strong negotiation and closing skills.

Goal-oriented, organized team player.

Self-motivated and self-directed.

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.

In-depth understanding of company key clients and their position in the industry.

Eager to expand the company with new sales and clients.

Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions.

Bachelor’s degree in electronics or electrical engineering preferred, but not required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
