Job Description: Project Manager Open Blue

About Open Blue:

Open Blue is Johnson Controls’ smart building platform that integrates HVAC, security, fire safety, data, and analytics through an AI-driven ecosystem. It provides real-time insights and optimizes energy consumption, maintenance costs, and space efficiency.

Purpose of the Role:

The Open Blue Project Manager coordinates and leads implementation projects of the Open Blue platform for clients. You are responsible for planning, execution, delivery, and ensuring the adoption of building intelligence projects, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

· Project Planning & Management Develop project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation; monitor progress, costs, and quality.

· Stakeholder Communication Coordinate with internal departments (engineering, service, sales), external partners, contractors, and clients; manage expectations and provide reports to management.

· Risk & Scope Management Identify project risks, implement mitigation measures, and manage scope changes to prevent scope creep.

· Team Coordination Lead and guide multidisciplinary teams, including junior project managers; ensure clarity in roles, deliverables, and responsibilities.

· Technical Integration Facilitate installation and integration of Open Blue Enterprise Manager, IoT connectivity, and software components with HVAC/IR systems.

· Quality & Delivery Ensure proper implementation, validation, and acceptance; deliver projects including training, documentation, and aftercare for sustainable adoption.

· Go-to-Market Support Assist sales and onboarding teams with technical input, demos, and project results to clearly communicate customer value.

Desired Profile:

· Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC, ICT, or similar.

· Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B project management; experience with software and smart building implementations is a plus.

· Certifications PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum certifications preferred.

· Technical Affinity Knowledge of IoT, cloud and edge architecture, HVAC/IR systems, and data integration. Experience with Open Blue or similar domains is an advantage.

· Skills Strong planning, organizational, risk and scope management skills; problem-solving ability; customer-oriented mindset; excellent presentation skills.
