Position Overview

JLL is seeking an elite Project Director with 20+ years of distinguished experience in data center development to lead our most complex and strategic mission-critical projects. This senior leadership position will drive delivery excellence for hyperscale data center developments while leveraging JLL's global platform to provide integrated real estate solutions for the world's leading technology companies and infrastructure investors.

As a Project Director within JLL's Mission Critical practice, you will combine deep technical expertise with commercial real estate acumen to deliver transformational data center projects that shape the digital infrastructure landscape. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while accessing JLL's comprehensive service platform spanning capital markets, leasing, property management, and strategic consulting.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Leadership Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center developments ranging from 50MW to 1GW+ campus deployments, serving as the primary client relationship manager and technical authority. Collaborate with JLL's Capital Markets team to structure innovative financing solutions and work with Leasing teams to optimize portfolio strategies for institutional and hyperscale clients.

Technical Excellence and Market Innovation Drive technical innovation in mission-critical facility design, construction delivery, and commissioning processes while staying ahead of industry trends including AI/ML infrastructure requirements, edge computing deployment strategies, and sustainable data center technologies. Leverage JLL's global research capabilities to inform design decisions and client advisory services.

Integrated Service Delivery Coordinate seamlessly across JLL's service lines including site selection and acquisition services, design and construction management, commissioning oversight, facilities management transition, and ongoing asset optimization. Utilize JLL's technology platforms and data analytics capabilities to enhance project delivery efficiency and client reporting.

Client Relationship Excellence Serve as trusted advisor to Fortune 100 technology companies, cloud service providers, and institutional investors, providing strategic guidance on portfolio development, market timing, and risk mitigation. Leverage JLL's global market intelligence and relationships to create competitive advantages for client organizations.

Risk Management and Compliance Develop comprehensive risk management frameworks addressing technical, commercial, environmental, and regulatory challenges across diverse global markets. Ensure compliance with local regulations while maintaining JLL's quality standards and corporate governance requirements.

Team Leadership and Knowledge Sharing Lead integrated project teams combining JLL professionals with external consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders. Contribute to JLL's knowledge management initiatives and participate in thought leadership development for the Mission Critical practice.

Required Qualifications

Experience Requirements Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in data center development, construction, or operations with demonstrated expertise delivering 10+ major projects. Proven track record managing developments with experience serving hyperscale technology clients, colocation providers, and institutional investors. Previous experience with integrated real estate service delivery strongly preferred.

Technical and Commercial Expertise Comprehensive understanding of mission-critical systems including advanced cooling technologies, high-density power distribution, renewable energy integration, and next-generation network infrastructure. Experience with complex commercial structures including build-to-suit arrangements, sale-leaseback transactions, and joint venture partnerships. Knowledge of global data center markets and regulatory environments.

Leadership and Client Management Exceptional executive presence with ability to serve as client-facing representative for JLL's most strategic relationships. Proven success managing large, multinational project teams and complex stakeholder environments. Outstanding communication capabilities with experience presenting to C-level executives and board-level audiences.
