Head of Infrastructure Operations
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Head of Infrastructure Operations, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Operations. As a senior role in the infrastructure and operations (I&O) function within IT, this individual is responsible to champion, refine and build a future-fit Infrastructure Operations organization for JLL.
The Head of Infrastructure Operations brings experience, knowledge, and future vision for transforming infrastructure operations including strategy, operating model, service offerings, and workforce capabilities. This role holder is a senior stakeholder in all infrastructure relationships and technology partnerships across JLL's global enterprise.
As a key member of the Senior I&O leadership team, this role contributes to the development and execution of enterprise-wide IT strategy and is responsible for ensuring Infrastructure Operations strategy is fully aligned, positioning infrastructure services to deliver compelling business value and operational excellence.
This individual is expected to support the Head of I&O and all engineering and business leaders by implementing infrastructure solutions that align to the enterprise architecture framework and digital transformation roadmap. The role holder will serve on IT planning and policymaking committees and drive the development and adoption of enterprise infrastructure standards, governance processes, and performance metrics.
The role has Operational and Technical/Development Ownership of JLL's on-premises data centers, cloud platforms, networks, databases and Active Directory. The role must drive operational discipline excellence, technical excellence, cloud migration initiatives, and cost management across all infrastructure domains. This includes Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for Nomad applications and Level 1 and 2 support operations
Key Responsibilities
Create and Execute Strategy
Create and communicate a pioneering vision for Infrastructure Operations, including the value proposition in digital transformation, optimization of hybrid cloud environments, and adoption of innovative technologies such as automation, AI-driven operations, and advanced monitoring solutions.
Optimize, Redesign, and Deliver Operating Models
Streamline infrastructure operations practices across data centers, cloud platforms, networks, and database systems. Enable compelling operational experiences and improve the value the enterprise receives from infrastructure investments through enhanced reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
Champion Innovation and Technical Excellence
Take advantage of breakthrough technologies by embracing automation, AI-driven operations, advanced observability, and Site Reliability Engineering practices. Drive sophisticated enterprise-focused thinking to address unprecedented infrastructure challenges with industry-wide implications.
Manage and Optimize Infrastructure Environment
Create and execute strategies for on-premises data centers, cloud platforms, networks, and databases to maximize value from infrastructure investments. Ensure operational excellence through modernized, cost-optimized, and resilient infrastructure that addresses technical debt and minimizes risks
Execute Cloud Migration and Transformation
Lead enterprise-wide cloud migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transition of workloads from on-premises to cloud environments. Implement strategic cloud adoption frameworks that optimize performance, security, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining operational continuity
Achieve Operational Discipline and Excellence
Establish and maintain comprehensive operational discipline across all infrastructure domains. Implement ITIL-aligned processes, SRE methodologies, and best practices that ensure consistently high service performance, minimize downtime, and optimize resource utilization
Drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for Nomad Applications
Implement and manage SRE practices for Nomad applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. Establish service level objectives (SLOs), error budgets, and automated monitoring systems to maintain optimal application performance
Provide Level 1 and 2 Support Operations
Oversee comprehensive Level 1 and 2 support for Nomad applications and infrastructure components. Ensure rapid incident response, effective problem resolution, and continuous service improvement through data-informed methods and collaborative practices Source: V1_IT Service Operations.pdf.
Financial Management and Cost Optimization
Drive strategic cost management initiatives across infrastructure operations. Implement budget optimization strategies, justify infrastructure investments with clear ROI analysis, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation while maintaining service quality and performance standards.
Drive and Communicate Outcomes
Build relationships and collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization. Convey complex infrastructure strategies and technical concepts that resonate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across global operations
Leadership Requirements
Strategic Vision
Clear strategic vision with ability to develop and communicate an Infrastructure Operations vision that inspires teams and aligns with enterprise IT and business strategy. Lead large service organizations using inclusive approaches supporting innovation and accountability
