Role Purpose
Responsible for the safe execution of a portfolio of concurrent projects for various Rolls-Royce sites. As part of the role the Project Manager must ensure that the projects are delivered to meet Integral & Rolls-Royce’s standards regarding health, safety, quality, cost and programme, whilst complying as a Principal Contractor with current CDM legislation. This includes compliance with MS18 and CSO6 Rolls-Royce standards. Project Managers must be qualified in a related trade, civils/groundworks/building structures etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the execution of projects with potential values between £50k to £15m at Rolls-Royce, Inchinnan.
- Provide Health and safety leadership to your site delivery teams and promote behavioural safety improvements.
- Support the project risk management process and ensure effective controls are established to ensure the safe and timely delivery of the projects.
- Manage the projects in accordance with the requirements of the NEC3 Framework Contract
- Support project opportunities where identified, to realise, maintain and improve the commercial project performance.
- Play an active lead in the production and risk management of quotations and estimates.
- Promote and maintain effective client/stakeholder relationships to protect and enhance the company's reputation at project level.
- To ensure our suppliers, sub-contractors and direct workforce follow company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Engineering standards.
- Work closely with the Senior Design Manager to ensure robust, workable economic and constructable designs are produced.
- Liaise with the Rolls-Royce Project Managers and their appointed consultant Project Managers to ensure that the projects are managed in compliance with MS18, CS06 and the current delivery programme and cost plan.
- To ensure a high level of service is delivered and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the agreed contract programme.
- To ensure works are carried out to high standard complying with relevant British Standards, codes of practice and Rolls-Royce Standards.
- Provide knowledge and support if required to ensure the quality and performance of the works.
- Ensure projects are completed snag and defect free
- Ensure that post completion deliverables such as final accounts and Operation & Maintenance information is delivered within the contracted timescales.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and development support to direct reports and trainees.
What we will need from you
- Proven and demonstrable experience in the role of a Project Manager within the building/construction/building service industries (essential).
- Experience of working in occupied buildings/campuses (essential).
- Experience of working in a live manufacturing environment (essential)
- Experience in the use of NEC3 Contracts (essential)
- Experience of managing health and safety procedures along with knowledge of H&S standards/regulations across multiple sites (essential).
- Experience of multiple stakeholder experience (essential)
- Ability to translate client needs into detailed plans (essential)
- Detailed understanding of the RIBA design stages (essential)
- Demonstrable experience of managing Mechanical and/or Electrical Designs and Installations (essential)
- Demonstrable pre-construction experience (essential)
- Ability to communicate the plan of work daily & weekly to multiple stakeholders (essential)
- Able to read/interpret Arch/Struct/MEP drawings (essential)
- Experience in the preparation of quotations and estimates (essential).
- Ability to develop a good understanding of the customers’ business requirements (essential)
- City & Guilds /NVQ (or equivalent) construction related qualification (essential).
- SMSTS, JIB/BESA, CSCS Card, First Aid (essential).
- Competent user of IT software packages including MS Office, Fieldview or similar tablet-based quality assurance software (highly desirable).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with clear and confident written and verbal communication skills (essential).
- High level organisational ability along with time management skills in order to drive and meet deadlines (essential).
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to all tasks undertaken. Able to demonstrate initiative and problem solve (essential).
- Commitment to providing a high-quality service demonstrating reliability, conscientiousness and flexibility (essential).
