At JFrog, we’re reinventing DevOps to help the world’s greatest companies innovate – and we want you along for the ride. This is a special place with a unique combination of brilliance, spirit, and just all-around great people. Here, if you’re willing to do more, your career can take off. And since software plays a central role in everyone’s lives, you’ll be part of an important mission. Thousands of customers, including the majority of the Fortune 100, trust JFrog to manage, accelerate, and secure their software delivery from code to production – a concept we call “liquid software.” Wouldn't it be amazing if you could join us on our journey?
We’re seeking a Data Team Lead to own and evolve the data layer that powers JFrog SaaS production environments. You’ll design, implement, and maintain mission-critical systems while leading the team responsible for the reliability, performance, and scalability of our data layer.
As the Data Team Lead at JFrog, you will…
-
Lead a distributed team operating across Israel and the United States.
-
Own the data layer across JFrog SaaS production environments — overseeing its stability, scalability, and continuous evolution.
-
Set the vision and roadmap for JFrog’s data layer across JFrog SaaS production environments.
-
Drive solutions that improve resilience and efficiency across the data layer, leveraging modern infrastructure and platform practices across the stack.
-
Collaborate globally with DevOps, R&D, Support, and SRE teams to streamline data operations, improve queries and workflows, and ensure efficient use of our data platforms.
-
Measure and improve uptime, performance, and operational excellence.
-
Develop talent, knowledge-sharing, and best practices within the team.
-
Stay ahead of technology trends to keep the platform modern and secure.
-
Define guardrails, automation, and infrastructure-as-code for database operations.
-
Analyze usage patterns and monitor health and performance, driving an ongoing optimization roadmap.
To be a DevOps Data Team Lead in JFrog, you need…
-
5+ years of experience working with production data platforms or large-scale databases.
-
3+ years leading teams (formal management or tech leadership).
-
Strong expertise with PostgreSQL — including performance tuning, troubleshooting, query optimization, and incident analysis.
-
Experience with cloud-managed database services (e.g., AWS RDS/Aurora, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database).
-
Solid experience operating data systems in production, high-availability environments.
-
Hands-on background with infrastructure and platform practices (e.g., automation, IaC, containers, cloud environments).
-
Experience with scripting languages, such as Python.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
-
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead through influence and ownership.
-
Comfortable balancing hands-on execution with team leadership and mentoring.
-
Experience with additional data technologies (Redis, Kafka, MongoDB, etc.).
-
Experience building and leading data reliability programs (backups, recovery, migrations, audits, etc.).
