Job Title: Network Engineer – Tier 2 (L2)

Experience

2–6 years of relevant experience supporting enterprise / corporate networks.

Education & Certification

  • Graduate in any stream

  • CCNA – Mandate

  • CCNP – Added advantage

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier‑2 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, Wireless, SD‑WAN and security environments for branch sites and data centers.

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including wireless, routing, switching, ACI, VPN, and destination reachability etc. Analyse issues using OSI model fundamentals and document root cause and resolution.

  • Handle incidents, service requests, and changes as per defined SLA and ITIL processes.

  • Perform configuration and troubleshooting on switches, routers, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, load balancers.

  • Assist in device code upgrades / software maintenance activities for WLC, Wireless APs, SD‑WAN devices, Nexus switches, F5 load balancers, firewalls etc under approved change windows.

  • Perform pre‑ and post‑upgrade validation, health checks, and basic rollback support.

  • Escalate complex issues to Tier‑3 teams with clear technical details and logs.

  • Work with monitoring tools and Service Now for ticket tracking, updates, and closure.

  • Ready to work in a 24×7 support environment, including shift-based operations and on‑call support as required.

Technical Skills – Mandatory

  • Strong understanding of OSI & TCP/IP models.
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting of:
  • Cisco Switches (8K, 9K Models etc) & Routers (8K ,9K etc).
  • Cisco WLC 9800 Models etc& Wireless Access Points 9130, 9164 etc.
  • Cisco ACI – basics (APIC, tenants/VRF/BD/EPG concepts, basic fabric/endpoint troubleshooting).
  • Firewalls (basic policy & traffic troubleshooting).
  • F5 Load Balancer (basic awareness / L2 support).
  • Basic understanding of VPN concepts and firewall rules.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, including Incident, Change & Problem processes.
  • Experience working with Service Now or similar ticketing tool.
  • Must have worked in an MNC environment and handled large‑scale enterprise network infrastructure.

Good to Have (Not Mandatory)

  • Network scripting / automation (Ansible, Python, basic scripting).

  • Cisco Voice / Collaboration basic knowledge.

  • Exposure to enterprise monitoring tools.

  • Soft Skills

  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies.

  • Enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and proactive approach.

  • Motivational attitude with strong ownership mindset.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Good documentation and stakeholder coordination skills.
