Role Summary:

The Manager – Big Data Application Support leads a team responsible for optimizing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-scale Big Data applications, focusing on Hadoop and Snowflake platforms. This strategic role drives operational excellence, adapts to evolving open-source technologies, and ensures robust application performance and reliability. The manager collaborates with cross functional teams, oversees incident and problem management, and champions continuous improvement in support processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Big Data/Hadoop/Snowflake Technical Lead with extensive experience on Hadoop and Snowflake platforms and related Big Data tools/technologies.

· 10+ years of experience in implementing and managing high-performance, scalable enterprise applications.

· Strong knowledge of architecture, design patterns, ETL, data modeling, and performance tuning in Hadoop and Snowflake environments.

· Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, Impala, Hive, HDFS, and related technologies.

· Experience in CI/CD tools such as Maven, Git/Stash, Jenkins, Docker, etc.

· Advanced proficiency in SQL queries, Scala, Python, and shell scripting.

· Ability to analyze large volumes of data, identify patterns, resolve data quality issues, and design scalable solutions.

· Experience working in Agile environments.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills; regular updates and follow-ups with stakeholders.

· Strong documentation and analytical skills.

· Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct team members.

· Quick learner, self-motivated, and proactive in managing problems.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in information science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.

· Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in Hadoop and Snowflake ecosystems.

· Proficient in Python/Scala and Spark.

· Sound knowledge of Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Oozie, HDFS, Kafka, etc.

· Excellent knowledge of Hadoop and Snowflake architecture and support.

· Good understanding of distributed computing environments.

· Prior working experience with Cloudera CDH/CDP.

· Involved in problem determination using application and system error logs.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

· Good understanding of production support processes.

Must have:

· Unix/Linux, one programming language (Scala, Java, Python, C++), HDFS architecture, Kafka, Snowflake, and Spark.

· Full understanding of Relational Database Management Systems and ETL concepts.

· Experience in Spark, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Oozie, Kafka, HDFS, Hive, Cloudera CDP.

· Familiarity with Windows Server 2012, Linux Red Hat 5x (and above).

· Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
