Overview
The Core Experience teams are dedicated to creating engaging and straightforward shopping experiences. You will be part of a team that is at the heart of product innovation, focusing on everything from the user interfaces to the underlying systems that support our web and mobile platforms. Our team’s work is guided by a data-driven methodology that ensures decisions are aligned with consumer needs, helping us move swiftly and efficiently in our development processes.
About the Job
We are seeking a Web Developer Engineer to build innovative, cutting-edge web products that span all surfaces for a single retailer. This role focuses on creating tools and experiences that help customers evaluate products and influence their buying decisions. As a Web Developer Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and deploying web solutions using the latest technologies.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and UX designers, ensuring seamless integration across the platform. Your efforts will directly shape and enhance the customer journey, delivering fast, dynamic, and personalized experiences across devices.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable web products using modern frameworks and tooling.

Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver interactive, visually compelling interfaces for evaluating products.

Ensure consistent and optimized experiences across all devices and surfaces.
-
Stay updated on emerging technologies to integrate new solutions into the development process.

Develop web products utilizing React.js
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Recent degree in a technology discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
-
3-6 years of work experience post-graduation in a technology field
-
Experience working with distributed systems
-
A strong sense of ownership and intellectual curiosity to understand problems in depth
-
Previous experience building features end to end or publishing your own app
-
Experience developing web products utilizing React.js, skilled in scaling applications and proficient in Ruby or Golang
-
Excellent collaborator who is able to work with teammates to objectively problem-solve
-
Growth mindset - seeks and is receptive to actionable feedback and growth opportunities

Takes accountability seriously; able to deliver responsibilities on time and on budget
-
Self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment

Able to work in small teams with significant ownership and autonomy
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment

Data Engineering experience: designing and implementing data pipelines, optimizing data schemas, ensuring data quality & integrity

Experience with NoSQL databases
-
Experience with data streaming & big data technologies: Apache Spark, Airflow, Hadoop

This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here. Currently, we are only hiring in the following provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
Offers may vary based on many factors, such as candidate experience and skills required for the role. Additionally, this role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants. Please read more about our benefits offerings here.
