Territory Account Manager Location – Norway (Remote)  Field‑based role, based in Norway with regional travel -up to 50% Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and be fluent/native in Norwegian and English Why Illumina in Norway

The Role:

You will drive commercial success across the Nordic region by combining your technical expertise in molecular biology or genomics with strong sales acumen. Supporting new and existing research customers in academia and industry, you will build trusted relationships that advance their scientific goals and support Illumina’s mission to improve human health through genomics. In this field‑based role, you will partner closely with sales specialists, marketing, customer care, and legal teams to deliver an exceptional end‑to‑end customer experience.

You are a commercially minded scientific professional who excels in building relationships and identifying opportunities that create long‑term value. With a solid technical background in molecular biology or genomics, you confidently translate complex science into impactful commercial discussions. You have proven success in Life Science or Diagnostics sales, including account management, contract negotiation, and meeting or exceeding targets.

Fluent in Norwegian and English, you communicate effectively at all levels and bring a strategic, organised, and proactive approach to managing a busy field‑based role. You forecast accurately, manage your pipeline well, and contribute to collaborative sales strategies. With strong problem‑solving skills and a forward‑thinking mindset, you thrive in a fast‑paced and scientifically dynamic environment.

  • Key Responsibilities Include

  • Account Development & Customer Engagement

  • Develop high‑value, long‑term customer accounts through relationship‑focused sales approaches.

  • Build trusted partnerships with academic and industry customers, acting as a knowledgeable advisor.

  • Identify new opportunities and expand Illumina’s footprint within the assigned territory.

  • Sales Execution & Negotiation

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead qualification to deal closure.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.

  • Negotiate all genetic analysis sales, including quotations and contract generation.

  • Maintain healthy profit margins through effective negotiation strategies.

  • Pipeline Management & Forecasting

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline across short‑, medium‑ and long‑term opportunities.

  • Deliver accurate and regular sales forecasts.

  • Create and execute a territory business plan aligned with regional sales objectives.

  • CRM & Data Excellence

  • Manage all customer, account, and opportunity information within Illumina’s CRM system.

  • Leverage CRM insights to grow existing accounts and identify new leads.

  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with sales specialists, marketing, customer care, and legal to enhance customer outcomes.

  • Communicate territory activities and strategies effectively with internal stakeholders.

  • Complete all required product and technology training to remain an expert in Illumina solutions.

  • Role Requirements

  • Strong technical background in molecular biology or genomics.

  • Experience in account management and Life Science or Diagnostics sales.

  • Excellent negotiation, organisation, time‑management and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to understand customer objectives and navigate complex environments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Norway.

  • Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • MSc or PhD in Life Sciences.

  • Fluent/native Norwegian and English language skills.

  • Valid driving licence.
