Territory Account Manager
Italy (Tuscany)

The role
As a Territory Account Manager here at Illumina, you will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of our industry‑leading genomics technologies across key clinical and research accounts. You will work closely with cross‑functional partners in sales, marketing, and technical teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs and accelerate the power of next‑generation sequencing (NGS) across healthcare and scientific discovery. Your efforts will directly contribute to expanding Illumina’s impact in a region rich in scientific excellence, supporting end users, decision makers, and emerging opportunities across hospitals, universities, and research institutes.

You bring strong knowledge of applied genetics, genomics, and NGS technologies, coupled with proven experience managing key clinical and research accounts. You are highly motivated, results‑oriented, and thrive when independently driving business development, prospecting new opportunities, and nurturing long‑term customer relationships.
Your strong scientific foundation enables you to confidently advise customers, deliver technical presentations, and position Illumina’s portfolio as a driver of clinical and research success. You work effectively within collaborative teams, demonstrate resilience in fast‑paced settings, and adapt seamlessly to evolving customer and organizational needs.
A Life Science degree is required, an advanced degree is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Territory & Account Leadership

Develop and execute a territory‑specific and account‑specific sales plan.

Adjust strategies in line with evolving company priorities and customer needs.

Engage in accurate forecasting and manage a robust, healthy sales pipeline.

Proactively utilize and maintain CRM data to ensure accurate business insights.
Commercial Excellence & Growth

Successfully prospect, generate, and convert new customer leads.

Manage existing accounts while continuously expanding customer reach and loyalty.

Navigate and close multi‑tiered sales cycles across capital equipment, consumables, and services.

Match customer business objectives with Illumina capabilities to deliver mutual value.

Demonstrate a win‑win approach in complex negotiations.
Customer Engagement & Technical Expertise

Deliver compelling scientific and technical seminars and presentations on Illumina’s solutions.

Demonstrate deep scientific understanding to facilitate a consultative sales process.

Provide expert portfolio positioning and guidance to customers at various organizational levels.
