Job Description:

The Weigh Wrap division of Hobart is seeking a hands‑on Accountant to join our team in a dynamic role ideal for candidates with a strong Accounting or Finance background. This person will maintain accounts and financials according to standards and will ensure availability of accounting information for management, such as P&L statements, general ledgers, and financial transactions. The selected individual will apply accounting techniques and standard practices & accounting procedures to classify, record & report on financial transactions. The selected accountant will receive guidance and direction from their manager & other accounting professionals but will also solve straightforward accounting problems and analyze possible solutions using standard accounting policies and procedures.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package, including journal entries and balance sheet accounts reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Accounts Payable function (including keying and paying invoices via wires, checks, ACH and associated accounting)
  • Daily Bank verifications to ensure timely recording of transactions
  • Record day-to-day journal entry transactions and recurring/monthly entries
  • Fixed asset management, including capital expenditure audits, monthly CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, reconciliations, and roll-forwards.
  • Assist in revenue outlooking process
  • Processing expense reports and related accounting
  • Interface with corporate Treasury and handle all intercompany monies through internal system
  • Ensure compliance with all Company & Financial Reporting policies and internal controls
  • Answer and resolve questions on the accounts with management

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA certification is a plus.
  • At least 1 to 2 years’ experience is required.
  • Must possess key leadership qualities, including flexibility, reliability, self-starter and effective team player and communicator.
  • A positive attitude focused on understanding, anticipating and responding to the needs of our customers, both internal and external to the department and company.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented with an aptitude to work accurately and quickly.
  • Must possess analytical, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ERP systems
  • Superior time management skills, able to work independently and set priorities
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Compensation Information: Dependent on experience.
