Job Description: Are you an accounting professional that enjoys owning the details of Accounts Payable while building toward broader accounting responsibilities?
E.H. Wachs is seeking an Accountant in our Lincolnshire, IL location. This onsite role will have a significant focus on the Accounts Payable (AP) function to provide accurate and timely processing of transactions for the company. As an active member of our accounting team, you will play a key role in ensuring timely payments of AP invoices.
As you grow with our team, you will take on more accounting responsibilities where you will drive results by accurately preparing, interpreting, and communicating business unit (BU) financial information. You will also support the team by ensuring the integrity of our financial records while supporting the culture, procedures, and internal controls. Your strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others will make you an invaluable asset to our team.
What you will do and impact: Accounts Payable
- Receive, review, and post AP invoices in the Great Plains accounting system
- Set up new vendors
- Communicate with vendors regarding inquiries via phone and email
General Ledger Accounting, Reporting & Close
- Maintain accounts and financial records in accordance with established standards
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts
- Participate in day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned functional areas
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
- Provide sales analysis and other financial reports to support the business unit and management decision-making
- Assist with capital expenditure requests, audits, and fixed asset management as needed
- Research and resolve divisional inquiries from corporate or external partners
Controls, Process Improvement & Business Partnership
- Participate in the development, enhancement, and monitoring of internal controls
- Ensure compliance with company policies and support implementation of new controls
- Work cross-functionally to complete required tasks and initiatives
- Help employees understand how decisions impact financial results; identify, communicate, and train others on key business drivers

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.

Minimum of 2-3 years of Accounting or Finance experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) is required. Working knowledge of ERP systems, financial report writers, business intelligence systems (e.g., Great Plains, is a plus)

The annual base salary range for this position is $66,000 – 78,000 annually. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. The company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
