Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role combines process improvement, and floor-level troubleshooting in a fast-paced plastic injection molding environment. The ideal candidate is just as comfortable analyzing data and improving processes as they are getting onto the floor to solve real-time production challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process & Equipment Support- Provide technical support for injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and tooling issues directly on the floor.

  • Assist maintenance and production teams with equipment modifications and repairs.

  • Engineering & Continuous Improvement- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize quality, efficiency, and cycle times.

  • Partner with production supervisors and operators to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Support new product launches, tooling changes, and engineering trials.

  • Documentation & Compliance- Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and PM standards.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and facility safety policies.

  • Support quality system requirements (PFMEA, control plans, capability studies, etc.).

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams to align on priorities.

  • Serve as a technical resource for operators and technicians.

  • Provide input on equipment purchases and capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 years of experience in plastic injection molding or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automation, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with injection molding equipment, tooling, and automation.
  • Proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office (Solid Works preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on the floor.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • 3d printing experience is a plus

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who thrives in a hands-on role — not just behind a computer.
  • A natural problem solver who can balance engineering analysis with real-time shop-floor support.
  • An engineer who is eager to get involved with process improvements, troubleshooting, and project work to help the plant run smoothly and grow.
