Job Description:

MTS Systems is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer in our Aerospace department to support the integration, commissioning, and acceptance of advanced test systems. This role works across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, and software disciplines to deliver fully integrated systems that meet performance and customer requirements.

This position is open to early-career professionals as well as more experienced engineers. We are willing to train motivated candidates who bring a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and an interest in hands-on system integration and customer-facing engineering work. As experience grows, this role offers opportunities to take on more advanced technical scope and responsibility.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Integrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, and software subsystems into complete test systems
  • Commission systems, verify performance, and support system acceptance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-level technical issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure alignment between contractual requirements, acceptance plans, and customer expectations
  • Provide advanced technical support for complex customer issues
  • Train customers on system operation and integration into their test and development processes

Applications, Sales, and Product Support

  • Perform product demonstrations on software, controllers, and mechanical systems
  • Review system quotations to ensure technical and budget alignment
  • Analyze performance data and customer requirements to support sales efforts
  • Support product development teams by providing feedback on system performance and enhancement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Product Management on new product concepts as appropriate to experience level

Qualifications Required or Foundational

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Must be U.S. citizen
  • Willingness and ability to travel ~35% of the time, both domestically and intern
  • Interest in hands-on, system-level engineering and multidisciplinary problem solving
  • Foundational knowledge in one or more of the following areas: mechanical systems, controls, hydraulics, electrical systems, or software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to learn complex systems and grow technical depth over time
  • Comfort presenting technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred

  • Experience with system integration, commissioning, testing, or field support
  • Exposure to control systems, automation, test equipment, or data acquisition
  • Experience with MTS equipment

Compensation Information:

The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000-$110,000 based on relevant education and experience.
