Job Description: Division SummaryITW Residential Mechanical Fastening offers a broad range of professional grade tools and fasteners for numerous construction applications. Position Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for leading all inbound receiving operations at the Bartlett, IL Packaging facility while demonstrating and reinforcing ITW Leadership Competencies. This role owns the safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and productivity of receiving, put-away, and replenishment processes. The Receiving Supervisor leads and develops a high-performing team, drives continuous improvement, and partners cross-functionally to support operational excellence.

In the event that the Production Supervisor is out of the office, this position will act as a backup performing the following duties: first line of contact for the operators, ensuring safety protocols are followed by all, and assigning the jobs for the day.

  • Primary Responsibilities

  • Understand inbound material flow and downstream customer impact to ensure uninterrupted packaging and shipping operations.

  • Establish and manage min/max inventory levels and FIFO discipline to balance service, cost, and inventory investment.

  • Support purchasing decisions for packaging supplies not maintained in the system, aligning demand with business needs.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Packaging, Shipping, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and outside service providers) to resolve material shortages, receipt discrepancies, and inbound constraints.

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and responsiveness to support ITW’s commitment to quality and reliability.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the receiving and material handling team to build capability, engagement, and accountability, assigning daily work and resources to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.

  • Model ITW leadership behaviors and foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and continuous development.

  • Track, analyze, and report key metrics related to safety, inventory accuracy, productivity, and truck volume.

  • Ensure accurate system transactions and physical inventory integrity through audits and cycle counts.

  • Support and help manage the facility safety program, audits, and corrective actions.

  • Conduct forklift safety training and ensure all operators are properly certified.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, import receipt requirements, and material handling best practices.

  • Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

  • 3–5 years of warehouse or distribution experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in an empowered, performance-driven environment.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of inventory management, FIFO, and cycle counting procedures.

  • Forklift operation experience required; certification in Reach Truck, Sit-Down, and Scissor Lift preferred (or willingness to be trained).

  • Ability to become a certified forklift safety trainer.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Navision or ERP experience preferred.

  • Ability to perform basic to advanced math functions related to inventory and materials management.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to heat, dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a distribution warehouse environment.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate.  Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to be present and walk through an active construction site in various weather conditions.  Be able to follow and use specific job site safety equipment and procedures.  Must be able to handle various company products such as steel products, tools, and construction chemicals while following proper safety guidelines established by the company. Ability to hear safety noises in the facility as well. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - 85,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
