Basic Function

The Product Specialist’s primary function is to enhance Brooks' global sales and profitability for the variable area business unit by actively supporting elements of the marketing mix (price, product, promotion, place).

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, a high sense of urgency, and a positive can-do attitude. The Variable Area Product Specialist reports directly to the Variable Area Business Unit Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • At the direction of the Global Product Marketing Manager, actively manage assigned aspects of product pricing, lead times, Marketing collateral, and custom product requests to grow revenues and increase profitability.

  • Assist the Global Product Marketing Manager to develop business cases to support New Product Development. Work with engineering, project management on New Product Development.

  • Work closely with the Global EPC Projects Manager to enhance variable area product sales in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) market. Generate and track project leads and analyze project status to facilitate EPC focus in the organization and drive results.

  • Develop Sales support and training materials to enhance the effectiveness of selling activities across all channels.

  • Work with Marketing Communications to implement product promotions in support of strategic objectives.

  • Manage projects. Lead initiatives across Brooks’ functional groups to ensure that customers’ needs are met, and business unit goals are achieved.

  • Act as an escalation path to ensure timely and accurate responses to customer issues and inquiries.

  • Assist the Global Product Marketing Manager with primary and secondary industry research projects to inform business unit growth strategies.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Variable Area products and associated markets. Work closely with the Global Product Marketing Manager to develop short-term goals and long-term strategies to exceed business unit sales and profitability goals.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field. Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience required. Sales, Application Engineering, Industrial manufacturing and applicable industry (Oil & Gas, Chemical, Analytical) experience preferred.

  • Strong communication skills required and financial aptitude preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with CRM software and ERP systems preferred.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills required.

  • Ability to work effectively on a team and across the organization to achieve objectives required.

Travel

Expected to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time
